Ordering the test and paying online was easy. I checked in at the lobby kiosk when I arrived for my appointment. A technician greeted me at the front desk just as I finished checking in and demanded a doctor's order. I didn't have one and a distressing discussion ensued until I clarified that the blood test was ordered and purchased online. The blood test was completed and the technician was very efficient but very rushed and curt. The test location was Quest Diagnostics, 119 E 93rd Ave, Crown Point, IN 46307. The technician/respresentative was masked and a very thin and small statured female, Caucasian, light blond/white hair.

Thank you for providing the address of the location and the information you remember about the representative. I have put in a formal complaint to our Quest rep as well as the operations manager. We can expect to have the manager of this office contacted to have staff retrained as to how to handle our orders to prevent any future issues.

The check-in from your car did not work this time, so I had to put myself at risk waiting in the small waiting area. I told the people at the front, but they were not very concerned about it. Also, I think the internet was not working well, so that may have been the issue - maybe make sure the building you are in has reliable service so your technology works. The phlebotomist was great - she was fast and it did not hurt. Suggestion - not sure what you can do about this, but the location is dark with no windows and the staff always seem to be sad or bored every year. Maybe bring back the live t.v. with sound, change offices to one with a window, pay them more - I don't know, but the atmosphere is always a bummer. Thanks!

I am disappointed to hear about your experience with the result time frame. We strive for 100% satisfaction with each and every customer and I apologize that we fell short of this goal. I apologize that your results took a little longer than the quoted time frame to be delivered to you. As you can imagine due to the pandemic and spike in required testing, all of the labs nationwide are experiencing delays in the testing time frame. We do include a disclaimer on the order that confirmation that reads: TEST RESULT DELAYS: Covid-19 has caused some delays at the labs. Please be aware it may take slightly longer than normal for test results. Feel free to contact us to ask for an update on your results. We are currently in the process of evaluating our current result times to see if they need to be updated. Ordering the test was very easy. However, I had to wait over an hour to get my blood drawn. It seemed that the log-in kiosk was broken so we weren't being registered. The staff didn't seem to know how to remedy the situation. When I finally got into a room, there were computer problems. They couldn't make labels for the tubes, so they were handwriting them which took extra time.

I recently ordered a test from health testing centers and I will say that I had a good experience with the testing and getting results. The only reason I am giving 3 stars is because I wasn't happy with the way that the testing wording was exclusionary to transgender people. I would like to request that they consider transgender people and improve this with the testing kits. There are transgender men that identify as male, but have vulvas and need to order certain tests that would use a swab for the vulva. Having to select a test marked for "females" can be very triggering and upsetting. Similarly, if a transgender woman who identifies as female but has to use the testing marked for "men" would also be triggering. Having a system that would account for transgender people would be very helpful. Many businesses like everlywell and letsgetchecked ask for your gender identity as well as if you are assigned female at birth or assigned male at birth. This is a more inclusive way to ask for the information needed without being exclusionary to trans people. Please consider changing your wording to be more inclusive.

This was my first experience with Health Testing Centers. I will say they were very helpful, communicative and accountable. With that I gave three stars for two reasons... 1-my experience with my lab draws, they utilize Sonora Quest, and of course not all of them will be so bad but 1 I went to was painful, preformed a dangerous procedure and then lost my labs. The second Quest was rude and dirty and when I was being told were to place the UA when finished he was very surprised to see the 7 cups of pee sitting in the bathroom from previous clients. without gloves bungled them in one handful and took them out of the bathroom. I could see how another lab managed to lose mine. This is a Quest issue not a Health Testing Center issue but these labs were a majority of my experience. I will say that the staff with HTC was very accountable and thorough to rectify the mess-up with my draw, I appreciated that. 2-I thought I had understood that any labs that had abnormal values would warrant a call with some explanation/guidance from the doctor, that is not the case. I had several tests that were abnormal and had to take my results to Urgent Care who sent me away because my health is "too complex", so any help with those results would certainly have been helpful. All that being said I will utilize Health Testing Centers in the future because it is still far better then being disregarded, dismissed and pawned by a doctors office.

While the lab techs do try to stick to appointments as closely as possible, unforeseen events such as patients with difficult blood draws, errors on paperwork, etc can cause the appointments to run longer than expected.
