Really Happy With How Things Turned Out
I worked with The Publishing Legend on my book and overall it was a good experience. I had a few concerns in the beginning, especially about how everything would come together, but the team was easy to communicate with and helped me understand the process. There were a couple of things I wanted adjusted along the way, and they were willing to work on them. I appreciate the effort they put into my project and I’m happy with the results.

Paid for developmental editing, got line edits, plus a copyright upsell and a $1875 demand for remaining work that was cancelled and not delivered

I signed a $2,500 Service Agreement with The Publishing Legend on September 10, 2026 and paid the first $625 installment. The charge appeared under the name Legends Horizon LLC. The contract says the work "will begin with developmental and structural review," including pacing, continuity, character and world-building. What I received were line-level edits to the first four chapters. On October 2 I asked in writing when the structural feedback was coming. I got no answer before I ended the agreement in writing on October 5, as the contract allows. Their reply the next day promised a developmental assessment "soon," and revised draft files dated October 6 arrived after my notice.
The copyright pitch bothered me most. On October 2 I was sent a two-option offer: a $65 standard filing, or a $999 "Special Handling" package that they called their "honest recommendation." I chose the $65 option because it was the only one viable for me. Instead of leaving it there, I was told they would see about an "author discount program" that could cut the cost by around 50%. To me, a price that can suddenly drop by half after you say no looks like an opening number, not a real price. A later email from the company apologized for "any concern the pricing discussion caused." I filed my copyright directly with the Copyright Office myself.
Also to note for any future authors reading this if you want to copyright, the expedited service is $800 flat with the copyright office. There is no changing that number or a discount.
After my notice, I was called on the phone even though I had asked for email only. On October 12 the company refused any refund, said I owe another $625 even though the contract sets no payment dates, and said my files will be released only after I pay. The contract says that on termination I "will receive completed and fully paid materials." I have disputed the charge with my bank.
Everything above is in the signed agreement, my payment receipt and the email record, and I can provide it to Trustpilot.

I’ve had a very positive experience…
I’ve had a very positive experience working with The Publishing Legend on my book. I had an idea of what I wanted to create, but there were many parts of the publishing process I didn’t fully understand. The team explained each stage, answered my questions, and helped me feel more confident about the decisions I was making.
Communication was one of the things I appreciated most. My project manager kept me updated, responded when I had questions, and made it easy to share feedback. When I wanted something changed, the team took the time to understand what I meant and let me review the revisions. I never felt rushed through a decision that mattered to me.
The editing was especially helpful. The editors caught things I had missed after reading my manuscript so many times, and their suggestions made parts of the book clearer. At the same time, I felt that my message and voice were respected. The team also helped with formatting and the overall presentation of the book, which involved more small details than I had expected.
I enjoyed the cover design process as well. I had a vision for it but wasn’t always sure how to describe it. The team listened to my ideas and worked through revisions with me. Seeing the cover come together made the project feel much more real.
This book is personal to me, so it meant a lot to work with people who took my feedback seriously and kept me involved. I’m pleased with how everything came together and grateful for the patience and support I received. I would be comfortable working with The Publishing Legend again on a future book.
