VacationRoostReviews of vacationroost.com

I like vacation rentals, but the unit (206) is absolutely disgusting. Rug is torn, dirty, and smelly. Bathroom is dirty and linoleum is torn. Phone was broken, bed is uncomfortable, and kitchen is not updated. Other than that, it was way too expensive and should not be rented until fixed up.

We felt the front desk were very insensitive to attempting to get our room ready a little earlier than 4. Very disappointed since we were told that there was a good possibility.

They double processed payment for both the deposit and the insurance. I even got an email saying my first payment didn't go through due to some computer error so I tried again and ended up getting charged twice. After 45 minutes in the phone with 2 agents trying to get this figured out I was told I would receive a refine for the double payment. However I never received it and then heard from the owner of the property that he received two payments for my deposit in his bank account been though the system spider not notify him of two payments. No one wants to take ownership for the mistake and it's been a big mess. BIG MISTAKE USING MY CREDIT CARD WITH THIS COMPANY. However the owner has been very proactive in trying to get it resolved so I'm very thankful for that. Otherwise it would never even consider us into this website as a source in the future for vacation housing.

We booked a 2 week vacation at deer valley through VacationRoost. Sales guy was all helpful during booking and recommendations, even suggesting the lodge we should stay at. Once we paid an all was settled there wasno follow up whatsoever. We had very poor service at the recommended lodge (non working showers, dishwasher not working, etc, etc). On top of that when we had to extend our stay at the lodge due to a case of flu, we were offered $850 a night by the lodge managers; however they then told us that we could not book directly since we had originally booked via vacation roost. When we contacted same sales guy he quoted $1150 !! For the lodge we were already using.....! Not a happy experience.

On our first night, we were in the Village Square building in a room above the bar . Noisy patrons came and went, especially at the 2 pm closing. About that time, the sick infant in the room next door started wailing and the walls are so thin, it sounded like it was in our room. I don't think I slept an hour total that night. The next night, we asked to be moved to another room and we were moved to the Mountain Plaza building. All was quiet and it was wonderful. Too bad I left my favorite fleece jacket in the old room when we moved. If we'd stayed both nights at Mountain Plaza, I would have given the resort 5 stars. The skiing was great.

Great location in a beautiful neighborhood; however, the value was poor given many, many house related issues. For example, ants were present in all rooms, promoted to have flat screen tv's in all rooms--not the case, dresser was broken in spare bedroom, sliding doors entering lanai and in one bathroom were broken, coffee maker/toaster vintage 1990's, not very clean. etc.
