We booked (10 passengers in our party) Athens, Catania and Florence with this company, absolutely fantastic company. Every tour was waiting at the port on time, great experience, would use them again, half the price of the cruise line.

We had booked 5 excursions with Venture Ashore in February for our cruise in July. Two weeks before our cruise they emailed to say that they were upgrading us as our tour in France had been cancelled. Okay - so far then the very next day they cancelled our Florence and Pisa small group tour offering another in its place - was not accepted- then two days later cancelled our trip in Taormina! It stressed me out so much we just rebooked similar (not the same) with our cruise line costing us a fortune. They are a broker so just try and find the cheapest tour operator which you could probably do yourself and save money. The trips we did do through them were good but the Amalfi Coast and Ravello and boat trip could have been booked with WorldTours Italy direct. If you want to avoid the stress involved don’t bother booking. There was no problem getting my money back but we were never given the reasons for cancellations.

If you're lucky enough to be on an excursion where only one cruise liner is involved, then you may be ok, but if they are picking up from multiple ships then be prepared to have a long wait, lack of communication and your excursions cut short. The excursions we had in Rome was basically a taxi driver who barely spoke and dropped us off "near" various sights and said be back in 30 mins. To make matters worse we spent over an hour of the excursion dropping other people off at hotels in the back streets of Rome. This most definitely wasn't a guided tour of the sights of Rome which we paid for. Oh, and don't get me started on our Florence and Pisa trip which never even happened! My adviwoukd be to book your excursions direcwith the cruise company. They are more expensive but far better organised and reliable.

Dreadful experience with this company who also trade under City Experiences. Booked 2 trips on our honeymoon cruise. The first to Rome was supposed to leave at 8am sharp but they decided to wait for a party of 22 Chinese tourists who were 40 minutes late so our trip was cut short. The second trip booked to Pompeii from 9am and lasting 4 hours as shown on their website and in our booking voucher actually left at 7.30am so our honeymoon trip around Italy has been completely spoilt. We won’t be able to return to Italy again so our one chance to visit the historic site has been taken away from us as it’s now too late to book another trip. Don’t waste your money
