Our vet database is built by customers, and it has been building for over ten years. There are, for example, vets listed at clinics that they no longer work for. However, these entries are linked to filed prescription information for other dogs and cats, and we cannot remove them. There are also many clinics with multiple locations. We rely on our customers to know and check the vet name, the clinic name, and the clinic address when they place their order. If a customer makes a mistake in selecting their veterinarian or clinic, we send them an email requesting that they update their account to the correct vet and asking that they let us know when that has been done so we can update the order and request a prescription from the appropriate clinic.
If a customer emails us their vet information, we will ask them again to update their clinic on their own. We can correct veterinarian information on a customer's behalf, but we have to enter his or her account to do so. We prefer not to do this for payment security reasons. Still, if a customer lets us know that they are unable to update the vet after trying to do so, our pharmacy technicians will enter the account to assist them.
We know that customers do not always find it easy to select their vet, clinic, and clinic location in our database due to some of these older entries, and we are and have been working on how to make this process easier. This takes time, though, and we still need customers to help us as much as they can to check that the information is correct and let us know exactly what is going wrong if we communicate to them that the clinic in the order may be incorrect. We know that this can be inconvenient for customers, and can increase the time it takes to get a prescription. We really do care about the pets we send medications to, and we are always sorry when there is a delay.
