Hi, we're sorry for the confusion. 97tax is an independent tax preparation service, not a government contractor or the IRS. We are IRS e-file approved and BBB accredited. We prepare and mail your completed IRS payment plan application, which you sign and mail to the IRS in the prepaid envelope included. The IRS then reviews it, responds by mail, and you make payments directly to them once approved. If you have any questions about your application or the next steps, please email [email protected] and we'll be glad to help.

Paid $200 for what I did on my own!

Hi James, we understand your frustration. You're right that IRS forms are available for free directly from the IRS. 97tax is for customers who prefer to have it prepared, completed, and mailed for them with a prepaid envelope to save time and guesswork. If the service wasn't right for you, email [email protected] and we're happy to look into your order.
