I am so not happy with your company
I am so not happy with your company. I had been advised by repairman that would order the part and would be out last Tuesday or Wednesday. No repairman and washer still broken. Called your company and was told that by a customer service representative that It would take 5 to 7 business days for a response from warranty department to approve this order parts. Due to our disability we can’t take clothes to the laundry shops. We are paying out of pocket for repair copayment and for a nice friendly friend to help us do laundry. I am really disappointed with this. Need my washing machine fixed. I guess you want me to get frustrated and go buy a new washing machine but not fix my machine or replace it.

Thank you for your feedback. After a thorough review of our records, we are unable to locate an active AFC Home Warranty claim matching the situation described. The account associated with this review is scheduled to begin coverage later this month, and no service request has been submitted with AFC at this time. Based on this, the experience referenced does not appear to involve AFC Home Warranty. If assistance is needed once coverage becomes active, our team will be happy to help.

Horrible... Paltry Payouts... Months to Reimburse!
I’m sharing this so other homeowners understand how AFC Home Club actually operates.
AFC approved a $500 plumbing reimbursement in writing, then took months to issue payment despite repeated follow-ups. During that delay, they told me the $500 approval exhausted the annual benefit, which is why they denied a separate $100 furnace repair claim.
After months of excuses about processing and mailing delays, AFC finally sent a check... but it was for $100, covering the furnace claim they had already said they could not approve, instead of the approved $500 plumbing claim. That check was issued before the policy was cancelled. Only afterward did AFC claim the $500 reimbursement was “void due to cancellation.”
Beyond this specific issue, consumers should understand how AFC calculates payouts. They heavily depreciate appliances and systems — including air conditioners, furnaces, washers, dryers, stoves, ovens, dishwashers, refrigerators, etc. If your home or equipment isn’t new, reimbursement amounts can be a small fraction of the actual repair or replacement cost. In one case, a nearly $1,000 repair resulted in $100 paid. (This happened more than once. Very frustrating and makes the warranty worthless.) NOTE: Not all companies do this. Make sure the one you choose doesn't pay like this. Unless your house is NEW, you'll end up paying more in premiums than they ever reimburse you for legitimate claims.
In short:
Claims may be approved, then delayed for months
Payments can be issued for the wrong claim and wrong amount
Cancellation may be used after the fact to avoid paying an approved reimbursement
Depreciation makes coverage far less valuable than advertised
Their own emails say: 6-8 weeks to get your check. Outrageous.
I would strongly advise homeowners to read the fine print carefully and not assume AFC coverage will come close to real-world repair costs.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We understand how frustrating delays or confusion around reimbursements can be, and we take concerns like this seriously.
AFC Home Warranty reviews each claim, approval, and payment based on the terms of the agreement in effect at the time the claim is submitted and processed. When multiple claims, benefit limits, reimbursements, or cancellations are involved, timing and sequence can impact how payments are applied. That said, we recognize that communication and clarity throughout the process are critical.
We do not intentionally delay approved reimbursements or issue payments incorrectly. If there is ever a discrepancy between what was approved and what was issued, we want the opportunity to review the full claim history and resolve it appropriately.
We would like to look further into the specific details of your account to ensure everything was handled in accordance with the contract and applicable guidelines. Please contact our Customer Resolution team directly at [email protected]
with your agreement number so we can review this matter in full.
We appreciate the feedback and the opportunity to address concerns directly.

There’s not more to say at this point…
There’s not more to say at this point cause I just joined. But up to this point I’m extremely satisfied. And satisfied with Michael as well. If you’re what he says you are as far as how you handle your members claims; then that will be outstanding.

Worst coverage fine print
Worst coverage fine print. AFC refused 2 claims for what is an integral part of fixing the problem.
1. Electrical issue - Would not cover the troubleshooting part of the process; how is the electrician supposed to know what to replace if he cant troubleshoot?
2. Washer detergent/softener drawer is broken, they would not cover that repair even though the soap/softener drawer is an integral part of the washer.
If you're considering AFC, don't; what they don't tell you is the fine/hidden print.
If you are a member of this rip off already, RUN AWAY and do it now.
P.S. Your response confirms my complaint about the fine print. How do you justify not covering and integral part of the washer's operation? Furthermore, I have little faith in a technician who tells me that an electrical wire in the wall may be chaffed and grounding the system due to "vibration." You not covering troubleshooting to find out what to repair is pretty dumb.
My review stands as written. I'm considering filing a complaint with the BBB; not that you'd make good on the problem, it would be just to alert other consumers.
Thanks for nothing and the lip service.

Hi Bill, thank you for sharing your feedback. We understand how frustrating it can be when a repair does not proceed as expected.
For the electrical request, the licensed contractor advised the issue involved improper wiring and required additional troubleshooting and access work. Diagnostic labor tied to installation or wiring issues and access openings are standard exclusions across the home warranty industry. Regarding the washer, detergent and softener drawers are listed exclusions under appliance coverage, as they are considered non essential mechanical components.
These determinations were based on the technician’s findings and the written agreement provided at enrollment. While we respect your perspective, AFC Home Warranty follows the same coverage framework used industry wide and works to explain decisions as clearly as possible.
