We used Best and Cheap Movers to move from DC to Virginia. We also needed a bed disassembled and then assembled back in a new home. Guys did everything quickly, professionally and price was surprisingly much lower than I expected! Excellent service and value. I am going to use them again for my family members for sure.

Pay a little extra for movers who actually care. I chose this company because they were about $200 cheaper than competitors, but it ended up costing $896 due to surprise charges for packing supplies. Specifically a single ripped box for clothes that were already bagged, despite me giving them my leftover packing materials for free. Key issues: 1. Late & Unprofessional: Arrived over an hour late and made negative comments about my new home. 2. Wasted Time: Didn't notify me when they finished and sat around waiting to run up the hourly clock ($89 per 30 mins after the 2-hour base). - Even with this I should have been charged $200 less than I was. 3. Careless Handling: Dumped all my belongings in a massive pile in the living room, completely ignoring the room labels on the boxes. 4. No Documentation: When asked for moving photos, they had none saved, claiming they only keep photos for apartments they want to showcase. While Alexander was responsive, his explanations were unclear. I ultimately paid just to end the stress, but I spent the rest of my day dismantling the mess they left behind. Save yourself the headache and hire a professional crew. Update: I’m glad you were able to share your perspective. My review accurately reflects my experience of this move, including the final price I was charged, how my belongings were handled, and the follow‑up communication I received from you about changing my review. The fact that I was overwhelmed enough to send a polite thank‑you text immediately after does not negate the problems I later documented. For those interested in more detail, including screenshots of our text exchange and the pricing discrepancy that led to the refund, please see my Google review of this company. Those screenshots also show that your initial responses to my concerns were sent at 1 and 2 in the morning, and that you repeatedly pressured me to respond and change my review to your satisfaction to the point where I had to block your number. That pattern of after‑hours contact and pressure is part of why I’m assuming this public comment is appearing now as well. I appreciate that you issued a partial refund; that refund was issued because of the overcharge I raised and documented, and it does not obligate me to change or remove an honest review. I won’t be engaging further.

Hello Aria, I’m not sure what changed between your message to me and the review you posted two months later, but I truly hope things are better for you now. Your original message after the move was: “The review has been posted, sir. Can’t thank you enough for helping on such short notice. You guys were so nice too. Thank you ☺️” Because your current review contains several statements that do not accurately reflect what happened, I now have to advocate for myself and clarify the situation. 1. Yes, sometimes moving companies can run late because of traffic, accidents, truck issues, or unexpected staff problems. In your case, however, your scheduled time was 10:30 AM and we arrived at 10:55 AM — 25 minutes late, not over an hour. I have our email correspondence confirming this, although I will not post private correspondence publicly. 2. Time and charges According to our email conversation, you selected our furniture-moving option at $499 for the first 2 hours and $85 for every additional 30 minutes. The estimated time was 3–4 hours, which you accepted. ( in our email conversation too) We started at approximately 11:00 AM, and your last message was at 2:42 PM saying, “be there in 18.” That means approximately 3 hours and 42 minutes from the beginning of the move until the end. There were some short water breaks, especially considering this was in the middle of summer with temperatures over 100°F. Under the 30-minute billing increments, 3 hours and 42 minutes is billed as 4 hours: $499 first 2 hours $340 for the additional 2 hours $12 plastic wrap $3 one box Total: $854 You selected the credit-card payment, which carries a 5% transaction fee: $854 × 1.05 = $896.70 So the final amount was not a surprise charge for packing supplies. The packing materials used were one box and plastic wrap, totaling $15. We completed the move within the estimated timeframe despite the extreme heat and the upstairs move. Despite that I still send a refund for 200$ which you not reflect in review 3. You said that we “dumped” everything into one large pile and ignored the room labels. I strongly believe our movers asked where you wanted your belongings placed. It is also possible that the available space was limited where items could safely be placed. Our intention is never to simply “dump” a customer's belongings. We unload carefully and follow the customer's instructions as much as the available space allows. 4. I’m also not sure what you expected regarding moving photos. We are not required to photograph a customer's personal belongings for documentation. I actually believe it is inappropriate for movers to routinely photograph customers’ personal belongings without a specific reason. When we do take photos for certain reasons, such as showcasing a completed move, we share those photos with the customer. That does not mean we photograph and keep documentation of every move. 5. Regarding the box charge, the bag containing your clothes ripped during the move. Customers sometimes overload bags, which can cause them to tear. For this reason, we generally recommend using proper moving boxes even when customers pack their own belongings. You chose the option where you packed your own items, so we assumed the items were properly prepared for moving. When the bag containing your clothes came apart, our movers took a box and transferred the clothes into it so they could be moved safely. If the boxes you provided had been the appropriate size, we most likely would have used one of them. I apologize for the inconvenience caused by the situation. We understand that not every move goes exactly as expected, and we are always willing to address legitimate concerns. However, we also believe future customers deserve an accurate picture of what actually occurred. We wish you all the best in your new home. 🏡 Update. Aria I am apologize for your experience. Good thing is everything delivered safe and within estimate time except one bag.
