I used Black Spectacles to prepare for my last two exams PPD and PDD, which I passed both in March 2021. I found Black Spectacles' Practice Exams, ARE Community Practice Quizzes, and Virtual Workshops extremely helpful. I highly recommend participating in the Virtual Workshops (if available through your subscription type) because I found talking through practice problems with others during the virtual workshops helped reinforce my understanding of specific material or led me to know what I needed to further study. The best practice exam experiences out there and more lecture videos you can ask for. I used it to study for all 6 ARE divisions. The dashboard is mobile-friendly which made it great for reviewing flash cards on the go.

I have used black spectacles to pass all of my exams so far. The videos are very intuitive and the content is put into perspective with great real-world examples. I would highly recommend this to anyone studying for the ARE. Well worth the cost if you use it.

This is one of the best materials I've used for the ARE exams. The videos and the practice test are great.

This is a worth while subscription. The practice exams are very similar to the format as the actual exam which is helpful familiarize yourself with what it will actually be like in the test center. It is nice how the practice exam breaks out how your score per objective but I wish the answers also showed the objective that it falls under for reference. I thought the expert workshops were generally helpful and was a good way to talk through questions with other exam candidates. The provided vocab words are pretty standard and can be found in generally any study material. The practical application videos are 50/50 helpful/not helpful. I am not happy with the refund policy, since there is no refund for unused time, Not Cool, they only offer a credit for future subscriptions. So, I would be careful how you plan your exam schedule to make the most of the subscription you buy.
