The gamified environment to learn stuff is such a cool feature and makes learning feel like a walk in the park.

I’ve learned a ton! I’ve done 21 courses/projects on boot.dev. This was the path that worked for me to get to the point where I feel like I can get a programming job. Highly recommend.

This is the best site for learning Web based coding and development hands down! The RPG video game theme is very creative and addictive. Also labs on almost every learning exercise!? Now that's the way to learn!!

Genuinely excellent way to learn about software and computing. It's dumb how the brain works, but just because I don't want to break my streak, I come back everyday much more consistently than I would on my own. And it's hard to overstate how excellent having an LLM tutor is (Boots). Whether it's because the lesson/task was unclear, or you noticed something and were curious, I've learned at least as much pestering the chat bot as I have doing the lessons. I'm a little over 8 months in, and I wish I was going faster, but I am progressing and the knowledge is sticking.

Lane Wagner refuses to hear constructive feedback about the platform. The courses are not worth the money. They are surface level and don't go in depth. I got a sub last month to study DevOps and I asked around in the discord channel whether it is worth it for devops. People said yes but when I look in the curriculum a lot of courses are missing. Not only that but the ones that are there are not really good enough as they don't go in depth. For Example, the kubernetes course doesn't go into kubernetes adminstration and other topics that are asked frequently in interviews and are necessary to get a job. The docker course was so simple and devoid of any depth that I finished it in an afternoon. I would only recommend a sub to COMPLETE BEGINNERS. People who have even a little bit of experience STAY AWAY from boot.dev. It is expensive and a waste of time and money.

I read this one! We really do take feedback seriously, I'm so sorry you didn't enjoy the docker course. Updates are incoming - we have a chapter on docker compose to add.

The courses are complete and easy to follow

I began studying backend development with boot.dev over a year ago and I think it was the best financial decision I’ve made yet! In one year my personality has competed changed; if someone asks what I do I say that I’m a programmer. After a year I finished their main backend path and I’m forward to what comes next :)
