I've gotten lost bouncing back and forth between sites and apps and emails. I don't know where I left off or how to get back to it. Sucks. I give up

I don't like the way 14 day turn around when your website reads that you will have a renewal card in minutes via digital or US mail. Why is there a waiting period when the website says immediate which means right away. A temporary digital card should be issued like the website says, immediately for those with serious illnesses.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. The physician certificate (recommendation) is emailed right away after the appointment. Some states like Oklahoma require that the certificate be sent to the Oklahoma Medical Marijuana Authority (OMMA) to receive a state-issued card. The turnaround for OMMA is about 14 days once the application is submitted. The physician's assistant tried giving you a call and has sent an email to help you complete this application. Could you please give her a call back at your convenience? I want to make sure everything gets submitted properly to ensure there are no delays from the state application. We do serve multiple states, so some of the information on our website is geared for states that allow the certificate issued by the physician to be sufficient for access to dispensaries. I understand how this can cause confusion and apologize for that. If you have trouble getting in touch with the physician's assistant or need us to give you her number, please call us at 804-893-5068.

Why did I need the app?
Reply from CannabisMD TeleMedJun 17, 2026
Good question. If you are talking about the app as in the application, it is used to schedule the appointment and securely store the medical cannabis certificate and other documentation. The certificate is emailed as well for convenience so that you do not have to log back into the app. The app also allows you to quickly login to book a renewal appointment without having to re-enter all of your information. State law requires annual evaluations to retain a valid medical cannabis certificate. If you are talking about the app as in the appointment, it is required by Virginia state law in order to receive a medical cannabis certification. Medical cannabis evaluations to receive a medical cannabis certificate must be conducted prior to the certificate being issued by the healthcare practitioner and the certificates can have a validity no longer than 1 year. This means the longest period of time between appointments by law is one year if you wish to keep an valid medical cannabis certificate which allows you to enter dispensaries and purchase medical cannabis products. If you ran into any issues with the application itself or during the appointment we would really like to know. If you need any further assistance please call us at 804-893-5068 and we can assist you.

Very convenient, and called exactly when scheduled. Never emailed the copy of the actual card, had to call the customer service number to have it sent. The customer service representative was very helpful.

Thank you for taking the time to leave this review. We are sorry for the delay you experienced in receiving the actual card. Once the provider submits the information to the state system it can take anywhere from 5-30 minutes for the system to actually approve the application which generates the actual card. Patients can register with the CCA to access the card themselves but the process is not the most straightforward so our staff continually check applications and once they see the application has been approved they manually access the actual card and email it to the patient. We do this for patient convenience. I am sorry this did not happen in your case and I appreciate you bringing this to my attention. I will speak with our staff to ensure something like this does not happen again.

My experience was fine, however if you are not technologically savvy enough then it is slightly challenging and the instructions are a lot more important than what some might think.

Thank you for leaving this review and letting people know the importance of the instructions we send after the appointment. The new state portal that went live on Dec. 1, 2025 is more complicated than the previous one for people who are not tech savvy. This is the main reason why we manually download a patient's Digital Medical Cannabis Card and attach it to the email along with video instructions showing people how to register if they want. By attaching the Digital Card in the email patients do not have to register with the state to access their Digital Card and can instead go straight to the dispensary with the email from us with their Digital Card attached. If you had any difficulty with our current process or feel we could explain things different to better assist patients please call us directly at 804-893-5068 and we would love to hear your feedback. Thank you again for taking the time to leave a review and if you ever need assistance in the future please let us know. We offer follow-up support at no additional cost.
