I’ve always loved Cracker Barrel since I was a child. I have not eaten at Cracker Barrel in maybe a year. Today my husband and I went for breakfast at 8:15am. The menu looks different - visually. It looked like it was from the diner down the street. Where did the nice big brown papery menues go?? And I was HIGHLY disappointed in the biscuits. They were not fluffy and soft. They were small and flatter looking and one biscuit was actually crunchy on one side. Just AWFUL. I had to ASK for butter and jam! Really! It used to always come out with a bowl of butter and jam and now I had to ask for it?! The bacon my husband had was not thick cut, it was thin but tasted fine (I mean, it is bacon). What in the world has happened to Cracker Barrel?! We passed up a local breakfast place bc there were very few cars in the parking lot and said we’d go to CB because KNOW it will be good. Wrong! We rarely eat breakfast and even more rarely go out for breakfast and this experience was so incredibly disappointing. I’m hoping it’s a one off but as I read more reviews it seems CB has really gone down hill. What a shame. Someone somewhere has turned this once beloved restaurant into just another ok chain restaurant.

I love Cracker Barrel, I eat there often, today I went there for my birthday dinner. I got the worst meal I have ever received from them. I ordered the vegetable plate consisting of 4 sides. I ordered hash brown casserole, good but served almost cold, dumplings, when i tried to remove them from the bowl they came out in one congealed lump. macaroni and cheese, luke warm, hard and old. and finally the green beans, i can't say anything about them because i never got them. the waitress said she would bring them to me when they were ready. with my meal finished and the waitress talking to friends at the next table for over 5 minutes! I finally flagged down the manager. The one bright spot of my visit was a caring, understanding manager who took care of the bill. I hope my next visit will be much improved.

The fried chicken we ordered tasted and looked it had been cooked for hours. It just had that "leftover" taste. Was not hot. I should have suspected something when our plates appeared 5 minutes after we ordered. The veggies were okay and the corn bread was good but I will not be going back. That CEO you just paid off to leave really did massive damage to your food and reputation. Our server was very attentive and polite. We rewarded his service.

I ordered the chicken strips to and my wife, who has Celiac disease asked for an intact baked potato in order to eliminate cross contamination. The order was to go from the store in Sturbridge, MA. The potato was undercooked. The biggest complain was the rubbery, inedible chicken strips. There was maybe 10% that I could actually eat (with great difficulty). We have been to many Cracker Barrel stores from Pennsylvania down to Florida and the food has always been excellent. One more experience like this, no matter where we are, will be our last to ANY Cracker Barrel. Who ever took over the company is running it into the ground, going by our , and other’s, experiences.

Poor service (waitress), poor service (kitchen), AND overcharged! Won’t be back. Only 9 of 22 tables in our section were filled, but Very slow getting us our food!! Order was wrong. Had to constantly ask for drink refills and the ones with no ice came with ice. However, the lady at register was very nice. The incorrect pricing comes from the waitress putting order in wrong! 😑 Oh! And there was still trash under our table from the previous customers.

My wife and I hadn't been to a Cracker Barrel in years. Our memory of the restaurant is positive. Based on that remembrance, we ate at the Gurnee Wisconsin location. To put it plainly, the food was awful. It was the first time I've ever been able to lift my entire portion of mashed potatoes with a fork. It was like a flying saucer. The side dishes taste like they come from a generic frozen bag. Portions are small. Which seems like the old joke about complaints. Clearly, Cracker Barrel is just biding its time, and stashing away money, until they declare bankruptcy. On the other hand, the servers were very good. I felt bad for them as they probably deal with unhappy customers every day. My wife and I shall remember the Cracker Barrel of olde.

Wife and I were looking forward to having the Campfire Beef and the Campfire chicken. AFTER our order was placed our server, Tanisha had to come back to our table and inform us, there wasn't any beef left. I'm disappointed but I chose the chicken. So, when our Campfire dinners were placed on our table, after opening the foil wrapping we found NO corn on the cob. Now frustrated and disappointed, I called Tanisha back and told her our corn was forgotten. That's when the manager, Alex come to us and said what side can I give you to replace the corn? The small bowl of green beans for me and mashed potatoes for my wife did not make up for the missing corn on the cob. The manager told us she was going to reduce the TAB, because of the errors that accured in the kitchen. THAT DIDN'T HAPPEN EITHER! I'm adding this was our second visit to this Cracker Barrel. The first visit the Campfire Beef was not available when. Also the watermelon lemonade tasted watered down. WE WERE CHARGED THE FULL TAB. Tanisha was wonderful, she was probably as frustrated as we were as she was not informed about the beef or the corn on the cob issues. Alex the manager? She needs to be retrained on her responsibility. We will not return.

Really crappy food at 2pm in the afternoon/brentwood,TN. Out of 4 meals ordered only one person was satisfied with their food. I had southern fried chicken-It was a VERY dark brown color-I truly beleive it had been fried a second time for reheating b4 being served to me and my side of hashbrown casserol was cold-just awful.Another ordered a veggie plate-mashed potato was a hard lumpy mess barely tepid! One ordered a steak medium that came well done,tough and so dry! Last one ordered fried fish and they were satisfied with that. $80 for nearly total crap! Fast food served hot and fresh would have been far better and cheaper! Never agin for me! I'm swearing off Cracker Barrel for good!
