It does not block out much of the noises from the street. To get the best blocking from them I have to press into the ear-canal very hard till it is actually a bit painful. I think even three stars is too much. It is better than the normal silicon plugs though. Thanks for the reply to my review. But I do follow the instructions. The pain is due to the air pressure not because the plugs are not soft.

Oh Svetlana: Mighty Plugs are made from PURE BEESWAX. Beeswax requires the following: 1. Just as you are about to insert, take ONE ear plug and ( work it or knead it ) thoroughly between your fingers or hands for at least 15 seconds to make it ( soft and malleable ) When the ear plug is soft and malleable, then it’s ready to insert; just follow the next step. 2. Using the tip of your index finger, push the ear plug & FLATTEN it ( IN---- AGAINST ) and (INTO) your ear canal, ( until you feel a GOOD SEAL ). IMPORTANT: If it doesn’t SEAL immediately, then hold your finger pressed against the ear plug (with slight pressure) for a few more seconds, until it will SEAL well. 3. Now take the other ear plug, prepare it the same way & insert it into the other ear. With both ear plugs inserted correctly & SEALING the ear canals; now listen: you’ll hear much less sound and often no sound at all. The ear plug is so soft and malleable, just like dough. That's first comment we've heard in 24 years regarding air pressure. Possibly, just like in an airplane, some people feel pain when the airplane is lowering altitude. Svetlana, try inserting a slightly smaller ear plug. It sounds as though our ear plug is (( too large )) for your ear canal. Just pinch a little off.

I was impressed by the "Best Earplug", maybe too impressed. I do like the plugs and probably will purchase again, but they did not seem anymore effective then many of the other earplugs. One thing I liked was the extended wear.

If you allow our ear plugs to SEAL your ear canals, then the amount of sound blocked out would be very very noticeable. Richard, please follow these instructions below ( exactly ) and you'll be pleasantly surprised!!!! 1. Using the tip of your index finger, push the ear plug a bit ((more)) FIRMLY (then before) & FLATTEN it (IN, AGAINST) and (INTO) your ear canal, ( until you feel a GOOD SEAL ). IMPORTANT: If it doesn’t SEAL immediately, then hold your finger pressed against the ear plug (with slight pressure) for a few more seconds, until it will SEAL well. 3. Now take the other ear plug, prepare it the same way & insert it into the other ear. I am so grateful for Mighty Plugs! I originally purchased them for help sleeping because my husband snores. These ear plugs work so well and are so comfortable I sleep like a baby. But I also use them when using our log splitter and shooting with my husband. They perfectly mold in your ears and seal out all noise. They also last a long time. Thank you Mighty Plugs!
