WARNING: READ EGO'S WARRANTY BEFORE PURCHASE!!! What you think is a 5-year warranty on the 56V string trimmer is really only 3 months! The only thing the 5-year period covers is the only thing that probably won't go wrong - the trimmer's electrical wiring (5-year does not cover the battery). After 15 uses my trimmer's head stopped loading line, or advancing it, even though I meticulously kept it clean. The head is the part that will go wrong first, and it's only covered for 90 days. A new head is $45, which is 20% of the retail on the whole thing.

When I bought my ego backpack on 519-22 I operated it for about 2 months and the Turbo trigger expired or broke. I did not take it in for repair since I needed the backpack blower for the remaining cutting season as well as a fall season 2 remove my leaves. I then called ego and received a warranty letter of approval to have my backpack blower repaired. Since then the battery ejection system broke and I cannot get my battery to release from the backpack blower. I contacted ego and requested a new backpack blower and they refused since the backpack blower is now out of warranty. I've used this piece of equipment less than 10 hours and it is a piece of junk. I am 70 years old I do not want to drive 40 miles to have my Backpack Blower repaired by a designated Ego repair service shop. Since this Backpack Blower has multiple issues with less than 10 hours of service I feel I should receive a new backpack blower without question.I'm very disappointed in the response I got from customer service as well as the product they sell to the consumers

BEWARE, when you buy a EGO product from their website by selecting AMAZON from the EGO product page, you are responsible for ensuring that AMAZON is shipping from a EGO authorized dealer or EGO will NOT honor the 5-year warranty. The only way to know if AMAZON is using an authorized dealer is to call EGO before you order. This not specified on their website. The AMAZON site states the product comes with a 5-year warranty. Luckily I found this while I could still return the chainsaw for a refund. Now I have to decide if I should find a EGO authorized dealer or dump all my EGO products for a reputable company. - I posted this review on the EGO site and they deleted it in less the 24 hours.

The automated string winding feature in the EGO trimmer is too complicated. Don't believe the promotional video that shows how "easy" it is! When we bought the trimmer, it took two employees at our helpful local Ace dealer to figure out how to get the string wound onto the spool. Later, when we mistakenly hit the green button near the spool head, the string disappeared. The spool cap is nearly impossible to remove, and we again had to return the trimmer to Ace for help retrieving the string. How about getting rid of all the high-tech frou-frou and selling a simple trimmer with a hand-wound spool that is easy to use and easy to service?

My experience with there batteries, is to say the least “very poor” the main mower battery which came with the machine (and it’s not a big lawn) does not last the distance even when it says it’s full charged. As for the strummer that last about 15 (if that) on a full charge (according to the charger) Personal I am going to “bin”both these items & go back to petrol. Mega disappointed

I purchased the EGO self-propelled Mower. It was great until the battery failed and because it was under warranty, I contacted them. They had me try a number of things to see if the problem was the battery or the charger, turned out to be the battery. This was mid-July 2022. and I am still waiting for the battery they promised to replace. I have called 8 times and every time I am told it will go out the next week. I have gone the entire summer without the lawnmower. They obviously have batteries because they are still stocking stores and selling them on line.

I bought a house on the coast before selling my older home, so I needed yard tools. EGO string trimmer reviews were good, so I bought both a string trimmer and a hedge trimmer that used the same 56v lithium battery in case one ran down while I was using it. Both were infrequently used, but after three years, the first battery failed. After another year, the second battery failed. The batteries cost $125 each to replace, but despite having multiple EGO power tools, I will NOT buy new batteries, since the EGO tools have been inferior in my experience. When I bought the EGO power tools, I also bought Kobalt 80 volt mower and blower with interchangeable batteries that are both still going strong. I won't throw money at a bad decision. EGO is dead to me.
