Diving the Galapagos was incredible

Diving the Galapagos was incredible. Everything on board, especially the crew, was very good, except the following: No hot water for showers in the cabins (lukewarm at best); the "English" and logic on the dive briefings was very bad. You're making the two divemasters do way too much. (Meet us at airports, logistics for in and out, dive equipment, waiting tables, briefings, fixing broken rooms, diving with groups, etc. etc. ) Get someone who can speak decent English and communicate effectively for the dive briefings. Kevin the divemaster was fantastic. His commitment to make sure everyone had a good time and his work ethic is commendable.

Hello Jeff, we are so glad to hear that you loved the diving in the Galapagos and the Humboldt Explorer crew and dive guides! Thank you for taking the time to leave a 5-star review and provide your feedback. We appreciate hearing from guests as the team works very hard to ensure that it is a wonderful and safe holiday for all! To speak to a few points in your review. The nature of liveaboards is quite different from resorts where many more staff are common, so it’s normal and necessary for each crew member on a liveaboard to have multiple jobs and tasks during a charter to ensure service for guests is top-notch. Specifically however, our crew takes care of the dive gear, dive guides may pick up guests at the airport, and all of the team often will assist during meals. Regarding repairs, our crew is equipped to receive an explanation of any issue that may arise, and will relay the same to our mechanics. Service of the vessel however, is solely addressed by our mechanics and repair personnel. For hot water aboard liveaboard vessels, as explained in all of our welcome briefings when getting settled for the trip, staggered showers are recommended to ensure the hot water tanks can keep up with demand and supply hot water for all 16 guests. Thank you for the kind words about our dive guide, Kevin. It is both a requirement and a benefit to guests to have local and certified Galapagos National Park dive guides leading our trips. Often bringing decades of experience in the Galapagos to enrich our dives and explorations on land! Although Ecuador is a Spanish speaking country, all of our guides speak English as a second language. This is our requirement and each member of our crew is tested in English fluency as part of their certification process. That being said, the operations manager will review the briefing standards with all the crew. Thank you once again for your review and happy diving!
