English Translation Reply: Hi Roland, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience aboard Humboldt Explorer. We're delighted to hear the Galápagos lived up to your expectations and that the diving, crew, and dive team all contributed to a memorable trip. Your comments about the crew, thorough dive briefings, and the level of service are especially appreciated. We also appreciate your comments regarding the rental equipment and the 15-liter cylinder upgrade. To clarify a couple of points, the larger cylinders are an optional upgrade beyond the standard tanks included with the trip. The upgrade fee is reviewed during the dive briefings so guests can decide whether they would like to take advantage of that option. Regarding the rental equipment, operating year-round in the Galápagos is demanding on dive gear, and exposure to salt, sun, and the underwater environment can result in cosmetic wear. All rental equipment is inspected and serviced regularly, with our rental inventory replaced annually to ensure it continues to meet our safety and performance standards. Thank you again for choosing Humboldt Explorer. We appreciate your thoughtful feedback and wish you more great diving ahead. Original Review: The Galapagos Islands fully met our expectations regarding nature conservation and wildlife diversity. The diving tour, in particular, completely lived up to our hopes, even though El Niño had significantly raised the water temperatures. The boat crew was outstanding and strove to accommodate every request. The dive guides prepared us very well with comprehensive briefings, and we always felt safe. The *Humboldt Explorer* is showing its age a bit but still exudes great charm. The rental equipment is significantly overpriced and not up to date. What really annoyed me was the fact that I had booked a diving package that included Nitrox. After switching to a 15-liter tank, I was charged an extra $130!! I found this completely unreasonable.

Hello Vanessa, Thank you for taking the time to share your experience aboard the Caribbean Explorer II. We’re glad to hear you, your husband, and your daughter had a great trip overall and enjoyed the time onboard with other guests—that’s always a big part of what makes these weeks at sea so memorable. As you noted, we do share in advance that our dive guides are there to enhance the experience and help point out marine life for those who choose to stay with the group. Divers, along with their buddy, plan and dive their profiles accordingly, which is standard for this style of diving. Coral reefs worldwide have been impacted by a number of factors in recent years, and it’s something we remain very mindful of in how we operate. Through our Dive Green® program, launched in 2008, and our partnership with Green Fins, we focus on responsible practices and doing what we can to help protect the marine environment. If any issues come up while onboard, the crew is always ready to assist and address concerns when they’re made aware, working to keep things running as smoothly as possible. We genuinely value feedback from all of our guests, as it helps support our team and continuously improve. Thank you again for taking the time to share yours. We’re glad there were some great moments and sightings along the way, and we wish you many more great dives ahead!

Hi Otto, thank you for sharing your experience and for highlighting the great service from our crew. We’re glad to hear you enjoyed many aspects of your trip with us. To clarify a couple of details: our vessels carry both AL80 and AL100 tanks. While AL80s are the global standard for recreational diving, larger tanks are always available upon request. Your group preferred the larger tanks and used AL100s throughout the week. Our chef works hard to balance variety with individual dietary needs, and we always do our best to accommodate requests. As in this case, we also communicate with guests and group leaders prior to each trip regarding special diets, so expectations are clear on what can realistically be provided. While not every specific food item can be available at every meal, each meal does include a protein option, along with fruit and vegetables. For hydration, the Humboldt Explorer is equipped with two water dispensers (each with a 5-gallon jug) — one on the dive deck and another in the covered dining area — as well as coffee, tea, and soft drinks, all stocked and available for self-service at any time to help keep everyone refreshed. We truly appreciate your feedback and are pleased you enjoyed the crew and the boat overall. Wishing you many more wonderful diving adventures ahead!

From English: Thank you for your review. We're glad you found the diving in the Galápagos as breathtaking as it truly is. While it’s one of the most extraordinary dive destinations in the world, conditions can include strong currents and occasionally rough seas—especially around Wolf and Darwin. That’s why we provide clear pre-trip information about what to expect. While it’s ultimately up to each certified diver to decide whether the environment matches their skill and comfort level, we do recommend all divers have prior experience with similarly challenging dives. We appreciate the 5-star feedback you shared with our crew while onboard, which echoed the experiences of others on your charter who noted feeling supported and having a safe, enjoyable trip. If there’s anything more you’d like to discuss, we’d be happy to connect directly. Happy diving!
