Was just a great all-around trip, everything clicked. Nice boat with a really awesome crew, nice small group of divers on board, weather cooperated, the diving was nice and relaxing, and the food was great. No issues or stress....No complaints, just a great week-long getaway!

Bucket list Galapagos trip
From the hotel pickup to the boat transfer and from boat to the airport, the Tiburon Explorer crew exhibited unparalleled service.
The dive crew was exceptional. The dive crew assisted the divers in donning their wetsuits and dive gear. In the transfer from the boat to the panga, there were 2 dive crew that checked if the dive gear and tank of every diver was complete, in their proper place and air turned on. In the panga, one of the crew assisted the diver in putting on their fins. The panga driver dropped off the divers in the exact dive spot and pick up was effortless despite choppy surface waters. Upon returning to the boat, the crew had thoughtfully placed towels at the divers designated area and hot beverage available for the divers. Assisted in doffing the wetsuits and hanging them up. The attention to detail was amazing, you know that you are diving with a very knowledgeable and experienced dive crew. This more than made up for my terrible experience in a liveaboard in the Maldives last October 2025 with a different operator, who had dive crew with terrible dispositions and one even pushed my tank while I was doing the giant stride, causing me to have muscle tear on my left leg and causing me to leave on Day 3 of 10 days liveaboard trip and have physical therapy sessions for 3 months. Caused me to be very cautious in choosing great dive crew instead of great looking boat and accommodations.
The dive briefings were very detailed and informative. The ratio of dive guide to divers was 1:8, yet the dive guides were safety conscious. They periodically checked on the divers during the dive, and helped take off the weights and BCD after each dive. You can feel that they want the divers to have an enjoyable diving experience. Off the water, the dive guides gave advice on reducing weights for some divers, to make for better buoyancy and trim.
The best dive sites for me were Darwin and Wolf. Darwin hands down, was the best, we saw hundreds of schooling hammerhead sharks. It was a magical experience to have. Swimming into the blue for our safety stop, we were met with hammerhead sharks above, below and around us. We also saw playful sea lions, marine iguanas, white tip reef sharks, catshark, red lipped batfish, eagle rays, dolphins, turtles and so much more.
The Tiburon Explorer is a beautiful boat. The rooms have adequate space and room to store our belongings, the bathroom was likewise beautiful. The beds and bathroom were cleaned and made up daily, fresh towels available daily. There were a variety of food and drink choices, from main meals to snacks. The only recommendation I can make is to provide more vegan food options, aside from veggie meat.
The captain sailed the boat seamlessly during our trip. The divers were invited to see the boat as it crossed the equator. We had 2 land excursions to see the blue footed boobies, flightless cormorants, iguanas and sea lions and another to see the giant tortoises and chance to do some shopping.
The sad part was the end of the dive trip and leaving the boat.

Great dives, fantastic food
I had an excellent time at the Turks and Caicos Explorer II. Everything was clean, spacious living room, fantastic diving conditions, and the food itself was a separate event. Eduardo, the cook, accommodated my dietary restrictions beautifully - a daily feast. Jenny, who is part of the crew, was also excellent at making sure we were having fun and everything was in place.

My best live-a-board experience yet!
As a dive instructor with thousands of dives and many live-a-board experiences I can say that my experience on the Turks and Caicos Explorer was my best yet. The staff was incredible, the food was the best I have ever had on a live-a-board and the diving beautiful. If I could give it more than 5 stars I definitely would. A very, very positive experience!!!

The Staff Are Amazing
I'm a new diver andd our group went on the Caribbean Explorer II to Saba and St. Kitts. It was my first live-aboard. When I got on the ship I thought to myself that this would be the last time I do this. But after the week we had I couldn't help but to look forward to the next adventure with this company. Of course the locations were beautiful and the diving is so great in that area. What made the trip special was the staff on the ship. Captain Bob was great - very kind and fun to be with. He shared a lot of stories - both work and personal. He was just pleasant to have around at snack and meal time. Terrance the engineer was sometimes around - checking on the engines and such. Always a nod and a smile as he worked his magic. Megan - the purser and sometimes dive guide was so kind and made sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed. I can't say enough about Jono - our chef. I was so impressed with the meals and snacks he made for us. I never would have believed that those meals could be prepared on a small ship. They were fabulous. Robyn and Sheldon were our dive guides. As a new diver, they always had an eye on me. They were so eager at every dive briefing to help us see something special and talk about what we might see. During our dives they were always pointing out something interesting and calling us over to make sure we saw that "special" thing. And Tevin - our night watch guy made sure the night divers were getting out of the water okay and getting to their tanks so they were ready for the next morning. He had a great laugh! Of course the group we were with was a wonderful bunch of people. Ready to share tips and tricks as a new diver, and helping me every step of the way. What a lovely week it ended up being.

We had an amazing trip
We had an amazing trip! Although the water was a lot warmer than expected, we still got an amazing aray of wildlife. The boat and the staff were exceptional, and 100% made the trip. The food was outstanding, dive guides fantastic, and the crew, you couldn't ask for more. The boat was modern, with nothing needing to be fixed. watching dolphins from the shower most day was fantastic!
