My husband and I had the trip of a lifetime to Botswana and South Africa this past June thanks in great part to the team at Fair Trade Safaris. Dianah and her team went above and beyond to custom tailor the trip to our specific desires and needs. The safaris they arranged for us in the Okavango Delta and Chobe were magnificent. We saw the big 5 and more. The guides and trackers were incredible. It was truly a profound and emotional experience. The lodgings were exceptional as were all the folks who worked there. The staff went out of their way to make our experience the best. The food was delicious! We had the same great experience in Cape Town as well. I can't say enough great things about Fair Trade Safaris. My husband and I are thinking of going back to Africa on another amazing safari and will surely use FTS services. I highly recommend them as you won't be disappointed.

This review must be read as if I was standing in front of you with excitement of our holiday, because that is exactly how I wrote it :D
Our family of 4 checked off the ultimate bucket list. From 2 business owners (Mom and Dad who are mid 50s) with Type A and Type B personalities (important for later), Fair Trade Safaris (FTS) delivered ALL the expectations and some. From accommodations, interstate travel via air and auto, tours, tour guides, CUISINE!!! THE FOOD!!! Oh wow, the food is absolutely amazing, just eat what the locals eat and you won't go wrong, but yes, FTS delivered top shelf.
Back to the review... every day (with tours and sight seeing) leading up to our safari last was truly amazing. We learned that most people (when there on holiday) did the Safari first and then the rest of their holiday after; ours was reversed and we wouldn't have changed it at all- children agreed.
The Safari itself was simply breath taking. There truly is not enough space in this review to give all the moments that made my eyes tear up due to not believing what I was seeing. We saw the Big 5 in Adult and Juvenile stage, a black Mamba (even more rare), and the Rangers/ Trackers and Guides (RTG) made sure we didn't leave visually empty handed.
The RTG know everything. I'm not just talking about the wildlife, they are at a completely different level of being One with the Earth. They look, listen and yes can even smell, to decide the direction of a find. The education level/certification of the RTG is done in layers- think University degrees. Our RTG were so knowledgeable about everything from the wildlife, birds, trees, bush, the Earth (soil/ land), weather, water, etc. as if they held quadruple doctorates in all things Safaris. If you asked, they had the answer. Trust me, I asked.
Our accommodations were top notch. We are from TX so AC is a bit of a requirement for us and we had it. Our rooms were luxurious for a safari so we definitely spoiled ourselves. Hot water, plush towels, fab beds, and structural buildings in the middle of a reserve. Just tell FTS what you're leaning towards and they will guide you.
Our children (13 and 11YO) were also able to do a Junior Ranger program via the property and they actually proved their skills by assisting in tracking down a pride of female lions, via only their tracks! You can definitely get excited about your children winning a sports game, but this was a totally different level of pride when they can detail different animal tracks.
At the end of this review, I will tell you this. I am a planner, remember the type A personality? I have been blessed to travel to 20+ countries, and in control of all of it solo, or for my family. This was the first time I kind of took a back seat and let go of the wheel and it was 100% the right decision. The staff was very communicative before travel, during travel, and all with kind reminders about being where and when for tours and transportation.
If I could leave you with one piece of advice, just book your holiday with Fair Trade Safaris. Yes, you have many choices out there but this company also takes their profits and puts it ALL back into the community, specifically children for better education and positive paths, along with animal conservation and preservation. This is not something you see with other companies and that is one of the multiple reasons why we chose FTS.
Oh, one more thing. We were already looking at their other packages the first week we came home. We are definitely going back and if you made it this far, I hope you simply call FTS. Ask your questions and place your deposit. Remember, no one will ever ask you to go on holiday. You just have to book it to make it happen.
Trust me, you won't regret it.
Cheers,
Rachel, Lake Travis, TX

An Unforgettable, Life-Changing Safari with Fair Trade Safaris
I recently returned from a trip to Kenya with Fair Trade Safaris, and I can honestly say it was a profound and life-changing experience. From start to finish, the entire trip was flawlessly organized and exceeded all of my expectations.
While I don't remember the specific names of all the lodges, the accommodations were superb. Each place felt like a resort, with a peaceful and comfortable atmosphere that was perfect for relaxing after a full day of game drives.
The wildlife viewing was simply incredible. We had so many memorable sightings, including a rhino with her baby, majestic elephants, and a lion. The absolute highlight was getting to witness multiple crossings of the Great Migration—a truly breathtaking spectacle that you have to see to believe. I was left with a profound sense of awe at the sheer number of animals, both big and small, that we saw.
A huge part of what made this trip so special were our two guides. They were not only incredibly friendly and welcoming, but also so knowledgeable about the animals, the ecosystem, and the culture. They went above and beyond to ensure we had the best possible experience, and their passion for what they do was infectious.
What makes Fair Trade Safaris truly stand out is their mission. I was particularly impressed to learn that they are a socially conscious company that donates 100% of their profits to wildlife conservation and community development initiatives. This commitment made the experience even more meaningful, as it felt like my trip was directly contributing to a greater purpose.
I truly wish everyone could have the opportunity to go on a trip like this. I highly recommend Fair Trade Safaris to anyone looking for a truly authentic and unforgettable adventure with a purpose.
