FathomReviews of fathom.video

Fathom’s automatic meeting transcription and AI-powered summarization are incredibly accurate and time-saving. The integration with Zoom is smooth, and I appreciate how it organizes key insights, action items, and questions automatically. It saves me from having to take notes manually and ensures nothing is missed during important discussions. The interface is intuitive, and the shareable summaries are a game-changer for team collaboration. It is very easy to connect and get started/implement internally just there with my calendars. I use this in almost every meeting that I take.

I appreciate how quick the video (with automatically generated notes) is available - practically instantaneously after the meeting concludes. The tech is also remarkably good at identifying who is speaking and who needs to be assigned what, if any, deliverables post-meeting. We've had a great experience utilizing the technology when conducting interviews - being able to go back and review the videos, notes, and deliverables is invaluable for discussion and training purposes.

Fathom is the best, most intuitive, meeting note take I have ever used. I am consistently blown away by the accuracy of the notes! More than that, I am stunned at Fathom's ability to understand nuance and tone. For example, it NEVER includes jokes, or even tangents. It keeps the notes, summaries, and action items focused and clear. We have saved countless admin hours using this tool. We've also seen an increase in productivity because of the action item clarity.

The note-taking feature is great. I love the interaction we can have with Fathom AI after a meeting to generate content, send an email about a specific topic that was discussed, confirm part of the conversation, and so on.

I’ll be honest—I almost didn’t try Fathom after seeing the 2.9 rating here. But after a vendor used it during a Zoom call, I was curious enough to test it for myself. I’m so glad I did. We switched from Otter and the difference was night and day. Fathom doesn’t just transcribe meetings—it understands them. The summaries, action items, and follow-ups it generates are eerily accurate and genuinely useful. It even lets you tag moments during meetings and “chat” with a transcript after the call to pull out quotes or context. Yes, there are a couple of missing features (like uploading audio or recording in-person meetings via mobile), but they’re on the roadmap and weren’t deal-breakers for us. The value Fathom does deliver made it an easy choice. If you rely on meetings for sales, client success, or team collaboration, don’t let the rating scare you off. This tool is seriously underrated.

This could be an amazing product. Fundamentally it's ok, but it can only get appts from one calendar and that has to be the same as the e-mail address you sign up with. To change that you have to create a request for them to do it for you. There is a distinct lack of self service and meaningful functionality. Sadly, other offerings on the market are so much better. Support generally is very poor as well. It takes days to get an answer and then they are typically first line, where they are just reading an FAQ without any real technical nouse.

I've been using Fathom for about two months now, and while the idea behind the tool is great, the practical experience has significant room for improvement. One main issue is the extensive time required to effectively review and analyze calls. The detailed scrutiny that Fathom facilitates often takes away from the natural flow of conversations, making interactions feel overly rigid and less authentic. Additionally, the tool currently lacks integration depth with widely-used platforms such as Google, which creates unnecessary friction and inefficiency. Scheduling is another challenge—Fathom requires sessions to be planned well in advance, making spontaneous or immediate meetings difficult and requiring extra manual effort to accommodate. Overall, Fathom fulfills its basic promises, but in practical use, it feels overly time-consuming and lacks user-friendly flexibility. The tool shows potential but needs significant enhancements in usability, integration, and flexibility to become truly effective.

I would strongly advise anyone, particularly startups and solopreneurs, to avoid using Fathom at the risk of losing your intellectual property. I used Fathom for two years and was happy with the services. When I first signed up for an account I used an email address related to a business development organization that I belonged to. Fast forward two years, and I decide to leave the business development network and attempt to change the email associated with my Fathom account. Fathom makes it incredibly difficult to do this. You can't just go into your account settings and change your email, but you need to send a form requesting their assistance. Finding this form was itself a challenge, and only possible after I sent a Help request to them. I made the change request several weeks prior to when the account transfer was needed and I got zero response. I followed up twice including a specific drop dead date by which I needed the change made or I was going to lose access. Still nothing. Three weeks later and after a third attempt to resolve the problem they get back to me. Only at this point do they inform me that their policy prohibits them from making the account transfer without proof of ownership of the old account; however that ship had sailed and I was no longer in a position to do so. Had they responded when I initially made the account transfer request, this would not have been a problem. When I explained the situation and pointed out that their slow response prohibited me from complying with their policy, they basically told me that I would have to accept losing TWO YEARS of client data. All because their own customer service was unable to respond to my account change request. This has caused significant damage to my company, as I no longer have access to transcripts and files for several long-term client relationships. Fathom is taking zero accountability. I feel like they have illegally expropriated my business secrets, but regardless I'm left stuck with no resolution in sight. There are plenty of competitors out there where this would not be a concern. Don't take a chance at losing all of your data due to Fathom's incompetence.
