I recently donated to a non-profit through givebutter. In the tip box the code for the decimal point has been tampered with. I typed in 10.00 for a $10.00 tip which updated to a tip of $1,000.00! As I believe this may constitute fraud, I will send copies of this note and videos of the experience to the Ohio and US AG's office.

Givebutter May be valuable to not profits due to its low cost. But it has been a disaster as a donor and potential bidder on the site. On the silent auction I was a donor to it always opened to dinning offers and most times would not show other categories that were offered.

Thank you for sharing your experience and feedback with us! 😊 We’re so sorry to hear about the challenges you faced while navigating the silent auction. The auction setup, including categories and product listings, is managed by the organization hosting the auction. They have the option to either list all items together without categories or organize them into specific categories. If certain categories or products didn’t appear, it’s likely because no items were added to those categories by the organization. That said, we’re always here to help! If you ever encounter any issues or have concerns, you can reach out to us 24/7. Simply open the chat bubble on our website or email us at [email protected], and we’ll investigate the matter right away. Your experience matters to us, and we’d love to ensure everything works smoothly for you!

Customer service is awful. Can't talk on the phone to someone, which makes it easier than typing out what you need. Then, when you do talk to someone, they don't know the answers to easy questions and leave you hanging on a chat or go back and forth in too many emails. I will not recommend Givebutter to any of my non-profit colleagues. It's not worth it.

I’m truly sorry to hear about your experience, and we sincerely apologize for any frustration this has caused. We do our best to support and assist our users, and we're so sorry if we fell short of your expectations. This is definitely not the experience we want you to have. While we currently don’t offer phone support, it’s something we’re hoping to provide in the future as we continue to grow. Your feedback is incredibly valuable, and we’ll use it to improve our service. Thank you again for sharing your thoughts with us, and we hope to have the opportunity to make things right in the future.

Just gave money through Givebutter and was charged a $22.80 tip after leaving it blank. Givebutter claims they don't require a tip for use. Troubled that I have read many bad reviews and hope someone with the know how can make this Givebutter accountable for this kind of behavior.

Today I made a $1,000 donation to a nonprofit via Givebutter, and specifically unchecked the box to give a "tip" to Givebutter. They charged me a $150 tip anyway, plus a $19.67 service fee. When I saw my receipt, I immediately objected to the tip and contacted Givebutter as well as my bank. The customer service rep from Givebutter seemed pretty good, or at least attempted to be very soothing, but the way their donation website is set up seems pretty scammy to me. In order to avoid giving a tip, it's not enough to uncheck the box; you also have to put a numerical zero in the tip amount. None of that info is obvious (or maybe even there at all, I'm not sure) which makes the process feel fraud-adjacent to me. And what started out as a helpful donation turned into a big waste of time--over an hour. The charity I wanted to donate to got nothing and I got a big fat headache.

they are a scam. they set up an account with me, as soon as my donors sent money, givebutter suspended my accout, said that our non profit was not official (which it 100% is and all the documents prove it) and then locked us out of the account where we cannot get our money and they did not refund our donors the money back and it was hundreds of dollars. No one has gotten back to us about the details and the chat agents are worthless.

I don't even know anything about Givebutter. I don't give to Charities, / Why = they are all ripoffs. Givebutter some how got in to my Pay-Pal account and took money illegally from my account.

I gave to this organization once! And they kept trying to charge our credit card. So much for being a "Good Christian" Organization. It's a scam.

Thank you for your feedback. We understand your concern and would like to let you know that Givebutter is an online fundraising platform that processes donations for nonprofits and charitable organizations. Our name appears on the receipt because we're the payment platform and merchant, but the funds go directly to the charity organization you are donating to. If you accidentally set up a recurring payment, we'll be happy to investigate and cancel any recurring donations on your behalf. Please contact us at [email protected]. We value your support and appreciate your understanding.
