Hi Christina,
I totally see what you mean. When you’re rocking a beautiful, light color like #27, a stray black thread isn’t just a minor detail, it stands out like a sore thumb. You’re right to call that out; when you're looking for a seamless install, you don't want to see the "mechanics" behind it.
I actually took your feedback directly to a meeting with our factory team to figure out why this happened and how to fix it for you. Here is the lowdown on the construction:
The "Why" Behind the Thread
Your unit uses our Machine Woven Miracle Knot.
The Structural Anchor: In the machine woven version, that "tail" of thread is actually what holds the entire knot together.
The "Don't Cut" Rule: If that thread is trimmed away, the tension is lost, and the hair will unfortunately start to shed and spread out.
The Color Choice: Traditionally, black thread is used to mimic the look of natural roots/new growth, but we clearly missed the mark on how that would look against a light #27 blonde.
The Hand-Knitted Difference
We do offer a Hand Knitted version of the Miracle Knot. Because it’s done by hand, it doesn't require that machine anchor thread at all, it is completely clean and "flawless" regardless of the hair color. However, because it’s so labor intensive, it is usually about 30% more expensive.
How We’re Making It Right
Your feedback is incredibly valuable to us. Because of your email, we are now officially looking into sourcing colored threads to match our lighter hair units in the future so this doesn't happen to anyone else.
In the meantime, I don’t want you to be unhappy with your purchase. I’d like to offer you a discount coupon to use toward our Hand-Knitted Miracle Knot Crochet. This will allow you to upgrade to the premium, thread-free version without having to pay that extra 30% out of pocket.
Best,
JALIZA
