Osum AI is seriously lacking in capabilities. If you are a junior marketer with very little experience, this may be helpful. However, if you are experienced and have years of experience in SEO, PPC, and digital marketing, this tool will be disappointing. I wish I could get my money back. This is a total rip-off.

I reached out to Osum after discovering an unauthorized annual subscription charge on my account. I would have expected customer support being concerned about the comprised account and amenable to a refund given the circumstances. Instead, I was emailed a terse, unsatisfactory, “Your access will remain active until the end of your current billing period. Please note that our policy does not provide refunds.” I don’t know if this was an automated response or they simply do not care / understand how scammy this is. The email also wasn’t signed by a real person. This has been horrible customer service and I’d caution anyone against using this fraudulent company.

I trialed Osum, and while impressive I was not ready to convert to a paid subscription. Several months later, I realized I was being charged $250 A MONTH. Their model locks you into a paid subscription if you don’t cancel after the trial, without any email notifications reminding you of this or confirming once you are charged. I understand it was partially my mistake not catching the charges sooner, but when I brought this to their attention, they took little to no responsibility. For context, they charged me for 6 months and only refunded 1. Meaning, I lost about $1k with ZERO use of their software. No wonder I was struggling to make ends meet during that time, I thought it was just because my rent increased. I highly recommend users go into any use of Osum aware of this. They will take your money and not say a word, so make sure you are more vigilant than I was as you will need to look out for yourself when working with this company.

I went on to use the trial and cancelled in the same day after seeing it did not function as well as Chat gpt. I was then charged the same day for the full purchase price. I have not found a phone number and the email has not yielded anything but an auto reply. I used the product same day and cancelled. They will not refund my money. This is a scam and or may someone please reach out to me directly to send my money back? This is very sad when you are taking over $1,200 from someone's account for a product they started a trial on and then when found out 10 days later form my bank will not return the money. Update and Response to OSUM 11/19/2024: Thank you so much for your reply. As soon as the money is returned I'll be happy to update my review. I have reached out on the following dates: October 8th, October 10th, October 19th, the bank reached out for the first time around the 21st of October and you rejected the refund. This has been going on for over a month so I had to dispute with my bank to keep moving forward. Yesterday, I reached out in any way I could Linkdin, your email, and trusted pilot to try and get someone's attention. Thank you for responding and also thank you again for getting back to me and for cooperating to return the funds! As soon as I have them back in the account I will update my review to let everyone know you returned the funds.

JAN 9 2025 Dear Stephen, I am posting this update based on the latest status of our interactions. We’d like to clarify a few important points for anyone following this conversation: 1. When you first contacted us, we were prepared to process a refund as quickly as possible. Unfortunately, filing a dispute with your bank immediately before receiving our response which would only have taken a few hours meant our hands were tied as the bank’s dispute process then had to take its full course and the bank process/timelines are PAINFUL. As I shared with you, when you file a dispute with Amex they do return the funds to your balance immediately but when a dispute clears maybe 2 months later, if/when Amex sides with the vendor (in this case us) they take the money back out of your account later. In order to save you from this situation occurring, we made extra efforts to prioritize working with you to resolve and guarantee return of your payment. We always did everything we could with the greatest of speed, however we cannot control what your bank and our payment processor do, other than continually following up with and reminding them and coordinating the process. 2. Once a dispute is initiated, the resolution timeline rests with both the payment processor and the bank. Even after a dispute appears “closed” on your bank’s end, funds must still be fully returned to our payment processor (Stripe) before we can finalize the refund. This step, called a reversal record, is required before Stripe can finalize the dispute on their end. This process can take additional weeks or months, entirely beyond our control. 3. We understand your continued frustration, but the second dispute on the same payment (I have never seen such a thing before) has further delayed the timeline and put us back at square one, when after all this time, we were only a couple of weeks from finally concluding this matter positively for you. 4. We are a small company and primarily offer online support. We do our best to answer every email and chat inquiry quickly. Upon review of our chat and email support software, it says, based on our activity "We typically reply within 2 hours". Weekends can of course take longer. We sincerely wish this had been resolved much faster. It would have been solved in 1 day if you had waited a few hours the first time. We sincerely regret any inconvenience caused. Considering we are back at square one, we remain fully committed and hope we can turn this situation around for you. NOV 19 2024 Dear Stephen, We are a small company and if you had just waited a few hours we would have actioned this for you. Either way we have approved the dispute but now I fear the process may take longer since you went to your bank straight away rather than waiting a few hours for our response. We will look into what sequence of actions resulted in your charge (though nobody else has recently complained about it). I will appreciate if you would delete your negative review as it is quite misrepresentative of our commitment to customer success.

BEWARE. I signed up for the 7 day trial and my credit card was immediately billed. All attempts to get in touch with Osum (email, Facebook chat) have been ignored. Do not give your credit card details unless you want to be billed immediately. Update - Osum only replied after I had posted this review online, despite what they state below. They did not reply to email nor FB within 5 days. They have refused my request for a refund, because I downloaded the "trial" data into a PDF. Update2 - Adam from Osum asked me how they can make the website clearer, so that people don't get confused like I did. It looks like they have made some changes now so that it's clearer. Good to see.

However, a 7 day trial is not available for the monthly Business plan or any annual plans. This user signed up for a Business plan where on the checkout it explicitly states they are to be billed immediately. Despite that, in case of any mistakes, we offer a generous refund policy: Refunds can be requested within 7 days post-trial (in case a user forgot to cancel) or from the start of a subscription without a trial, provided usage does not exceed 3 reports viewed or any PDF exports. This user used significant account resources (more than 3 reports or any PDF exports) therefore was no longer eligible for a refund. User also makes a contradictory claim: Supposedly we did not reply, when in fact the records show there was a reply, which he confirmed in his review - that he was not eligible for a refund. ----- Hi Peter, Thank you for your feedback, and I’m sorry to hear about your frustration.
