I was fearful of whether they would be able recovery the data of family pictures and health records but they were able to recover these as well as ALL the other data on the hard drive. I received prompt reassuring answers to my emails. What a relief and well worth the cost not to have lost all the files that I would never have been able to recover any other way. I'm taking their advice and backing up to a online CLOUD service for $5.00 a month which is little enough to pay for the peace of mind to be sure of never going through the panic of losing data from a hard drive failure again.

Alex was able to tell that I have send HDD with the wrong PCB but said they can repair it anyway. I rushed my second drive with the right PCB to them and it was done as soon as they got it.

The customer service rep and support personnel I dealt with were excellent. They responded immediately and were very helpful. My iPod's hard drive first began to respond very slowly and then just stopped working altogether. My project was to recover only the music files. This company recovers files and labels them as "good", "maybe" or "bad" 98% of my recovered files were labeled "maybe" or "bad". Considering this was only an iPod and that the data had not been damaged in any way I would think that the successful recovery rate would have been greater. I would hesitate to give them a more complicated project involving an actual computer where the hard drive had been damaged by being dropped, water or fire. As the title of this review says, I would rate their customer service people as excellent but rate their technical service as poor.

although it about broke us financially it was important enough for me to get this service done, It is expensive and would be great if they were encouraged to have a sliding scale for business and private folks. It was just quilting and crafty stuff with some pics so it probably should not have been hard or so expensive. If you are prepared for a professional and communicative and even helpful staff, give them a try if you have the money to pay for it.

Chris Weeden was assigned to our project and he was a complete gem. He kept us informed on every step of the process. The process was easy and quick, took longer waiting for delivery that fixing the drive. All of my problems with the drive were solved and it was returned to me with all data in tact and ready to use. I had a USB drive with many photos taken in Italy that we'd though lost when the drive became unresponsive. Thanks to Outsource Data Recovery 800 pictures of the trip are back.
