First, record click is expensive, so itʻs important to know what youʻre getting for your money. For me, I had hit a dead end in my own family research, so I turned over all my documentation to them and also gave them my results of genetic testing. I asked for 2 specific pieces of information that I had not yet acquired for them to work on. After a month, what they gave me in return for almost 1k of money was a report on my genetic testing from ancestry, THATS IT. No additional documents, no new names that I was looking for. Youʻd be better off paying your friend 1k and having them tell you more about what youʻve just given them, because at least your friend gets your money instead of these random strangers that canʻt tell you anything new.

*** Chinese immigration Records Complications Hi Ryan, I appreciate you sharing this feedback. I want to clarify what happened with your research. You had a genuinely difficult case; Chinese immigration records, non-marital parentage, and conflicting family information. Our researcher spent 10 hours on it: - Cross-referencing your family's beliefs against ship manifests and census records - Analyzing DNA matches and genetic clustering - Reaching out to potential connections (including Sharon Berry, who actually responded in January with helpful context) - Reconciling date discrepancies between Chinese and Gregorian calendars I understand this isn't what you were hoping for. In genealogy, sometimes expertise and solid groundwork don't yield new names right away. Especially, in brick wall cases like yours. We did set expectations early on that DNA is a tool, not a magic wand. That said, your feedback matters. If you'd like to discuss next steps or explore a different approach with a researcher who specializes in Chinese immigration, reach out directly. We want to make this right. Management
