Thank you for sharing your experience! It's great to hear your block plane is performing better than ever. On the clamp, the Upgrade Kit was actually developed in response to customer feedback we'd been collecting over time, so it's something we were already working on. And on that note, we’re about to release a new version of the SharpMate with the upgraded clamp already built in from the start. The reason we introduced the Upgrade Kit first was to make sure existing customers like yourself had the chance to bring their units up to the same functionality before the new version launched, rather than having to buy a whole new tool. We hope that context helps, and we really do appreciate you taking the time to share your feedback!

Thank you so much for your kind words we're really glad to hear you're happy with the tools! 😊 The little red flag on the dowel jig is used to help turn the blade. The carbide blade is square, which means it has four cutting edges. When one edge becomes dull, simply loosen the blade, rotate it 90 degrees to a fresh edge, and tighten it again.
