Thank you for your feedback. We understand that cost and instructional support are important factors in choosing a course, and we want to assure you that SCU offers some of the most affordable options in the nation. We are committed to providing unparalleled support for our students from start to finish, which includes weekly check-ins, office hours, on-demand tutoring, and many other resources to help ensure success.
Regarding our tuition refund policy, the details are as follows: Withdrawing in Week 1: 75% tuition refund. Withdrawing in Week 2: 50% tuition refund. Withdrawing in Week 3: 25% tuition refund. Withdrawing in Weeks 4 or 5: No refund available. One important caveat is that we do allow students who have decided not to begin their course the opportunity to receive a full tuition refund up to 14 days after classes start if they have not yet completed any assignments.
Specifically it looks like you were taking a lab and lecture which totaled 5 credits, which meant your total tuition for lecture and lab at $515 a credit hour was $2,575 plus a $100 registration fee, so you paid a total of $2,675 for your courses. Later when you requested a withdrawal at the end of the first week, since you had not begun your lab you were provided a 100% tuition refund. For your lecture, however, since you had already completed assignments for that first week, unfortunately we were not able to provide a full refund and our prorated tuition policy was applied. You were then refunded a total of $2,060. I am not sure where you have a total of $3700 paid, as you were only ever registered for that lab and lecture in our program.
Overall, we regret that your experience did not meet your expectations, but we appreciate your feedback as we continue to enhance our academic programs and student support services.
