I expected more from these aids. I thought that the AI would deliver more understanding of softer spoken speech.

The edge mode is very nice & I’ve been using it. I also love the recharging battery, which is different than my previous hearing aid. Although making adjustments through the iPhone is very convenient on this model, I miss being able to adjust the sound UP & DOWN (2 buttons on the ear piece, instead of one.). It now has to go through all of the settings every time I need to adjust the sound, instead of just hitting either button.

I will never return to Uhring's Hearing and Balance, and I will never buy Starkey brand again. This is why. 1.One of the selling points was blue tooth. When I returned and complained that I couldn't connect, I was told, "Oh that's only on Apple"! 2.With later use I discovered the protruding function button on the ITE aid snags on headphones, bicycle or motorcycle helmet, even on a hat, changing the setting or pulling the aid out of my ear. No response was given to that complaint. 3.When I complained that S sounds come through as hsssss, after an adjustment I was told, "You'll get used to it." After several weeks of trying to get used to the annoying hiss, I discovered also that the sound quality was so bad I couldn't identify who was talking to me when my back was turned. This after 3 return visits for adjustments. I was told any more visits would be an extra charge. Finally I paid out-of-pocket (elsewhere) to replace a lost, old hearing aid of another brand and have been happily using same ever since. The original cost was 1/2 the $5000 my insurance paid for the Starkey pieces of junk that now set on a dusty shelf. I will never return to Uhring's Hearing and Balance, and I will never buy Starkey brand again. ------------------------------------------------------------- I do appreciate the response from Starkey, giving me a telephone number to call. The representatives were very polite and informative in trying to resolve my issues.

I have had nothing but problems with my Starkey hearing aids. The right one has been serviced three times, and I just had to take the left one in. I would not recommend. Seems they are out of service more than I can use them.

I have had my Starkey Livio AI for 4 years, paid $7,000 for the pair of them. I was looking for quality of sound due to a passion of mine that would replicate those tones. These hearing aids perform well…when they are working. I had them 1 month when they were sent in for repair. They have now been sent back to the manufacturer 5 times. I am lucky to get one year out of them before repair is needed. Plus since they are out of warranty, I pay around $500 a year for insurance. I put them in the charger and then one will not work. Test them via the phone app and one or both will not respond after being charged. I wait about 2 weeks and when it keeps happening I take them into the local dealer. Of course, they fiddle or clean then and they start working again. I get them home, a few days later starts all over again. So take them back to the dealer and have to rant with them to understand it’s intermittent, so because they worked for you once, does not mean all is well. I waste weeks going without these and begging for help. It is not the dealers fault, but 4 yrs and $7K…I expect a quality product. The quality of sound is great, but a hunk of junk producing it! I am not in an environment that is hard on them, getting them wet or issues that would cause this. I have tinnitus so without hearing aids it sounds like a freight train running through my head. I have my first pair of standard battery ones, that have never failed me. Thank goodness I kept them. We as hearing impaired people do not deserve paying for junk!!! Our local dealers can fix “trash”!

Adequate is probably the best description as to the effectiveness of the Thrive app. It randomly can't find my hearing aids (despite them being next to the 'phone). Volume conrol sometimes only works on one ( but I can control both manually). Other ad hoc bizzare behaviour necessitating uninstalling the app, downloading again and re-setting. Usually works for a few weeks until something else goes wrong...then repeat process. App needs some serious work to bring it to an acceptable, functional level!

When I got married, I made a decision to go back to secondary school, and I passed very well then I was selected to Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources (LUANAR), but since I'm hearing impaired person it was very difficult to make progress. One day, Starkey visited Malawi and provided free hearing aids at Malawi University of Science and Technology (MUST). I was one of the beneficiary, and since then, my life changed. As I am speaking now, I am waiting for the graduation ceremony. 🎓 Results are out and show that I made a degree with credit. I don't know how I can thank you, but God will always bless you.
