The NovelryReviews of thenovelry.com

When I signed up for the Classic Course I had no idea how inspiring and thought-provoking it would be. I believe it is unique in opening minds to the mental journeys, philosophies and story-craft of some of our greatest writers. Each lesson left me feeling inspired and excited.

Super pleased to have discovered The Novelry. I’d been struggling to get a first draft of a longed-to-write novel. It reignited my love of writing, boosted my confidence by gently reminding me that I knew some stuff already and I could do this, and showed me I wasn’t alone. Now comes the real test. Getting that first draft done. I’ve just started the 90 Day Novel Writing Course. Bear with me. But allow me no excuses. Thank you The Novelry

The Novelry calms the nerves, sparks the imagination, and draws out joy within the daunting perspective of writing a novel. I enjoyed the warmth of community instantly! The perfect place to tread those vulnerable waters.

I signed up to The Novelry's The Ninety Day Novel to force myself to finish a languishing draft, thinking I'd use it as a prompt rather than a 'school' - I'd done enough writing courses and wasn't expecting to learn much more from the lessons. But WOW! Louise has developed a cornucopia of thought-provoking sessions and exercises that challenged the way I saw my practice and stretched my thinking and experience well beyond my comfort zone, resulting in a first draft I never thought I'd ever be able to write. And, just as predicted, I really did quickly start to come to my writing with confidence and joy. As a writer, you can't ask for much more. I'm hugely grateful that I discovered this fantastic writing course and the marvellously inspiring Louise Dean and her equally inspiring co-mentors. Thank you!

I have taken quite a few courses on fiction writing and read hundreds of books. The material for the course was all new to me. It opened up areas for storytelling that are natural and yet not taught. I found it inspirational and practical. The resources given me I will use in my upcoming novel.

Fascinating journey and the pleasure to study at a standard I’ve not found elsewhere. I have a much clearer picture of what’s needed and know that when I get stuck, there’ll be somebody to help me. Every lesson was valuable. I took something from each of them. The quality of your tuition is superb, Louise. I’ll always be grateful to you and feel proud of myself for studying your course and putting what I’ve learnt from you into practice. I’ve loved having The Novelry in my life.

I started from an idea to a first draft and having a full-time job did not stop me from accomplishing the goal. If you're willing to invest the time, then this is a great way to learn fast!

I was skeptical at first, but I'm so glad I did this. Now I have a complete first draft and I can't wait to work on the next draft. Because it works! I'm in a writing group and I have an MFA in fiction and I've seen so many of my peers write a good first chapter. But they can't get farther than that. They'll maybe get halfway through a first draft, but it fizzles out before they ever complete it. Another issue--they start a novel without a very strong idea/premise. I've done this myself, twice. This course helped me clear those hurdles. The practical advice offered in this course helped tighten up both my process and my approach to writing a novel.
