The final product was well done and thorough. The Genealogist I was assigned was Linda and she was clearly well informed and new her stuff. I asked a number of detailed technical questions and she answered them quite adeptly and quickly. Indeed, if I had more work to follow up I would ask to see her. There were some disappointments, however. On two occasions the Team apparently was unaware of the upgraded product I had purchased and I had to remind them that I bought the Genetics package. They acknowledged this on both occasions and made good. But, if I hadn't been following this as closely as I was I would have indeed lost out. Also, at the beginning, materials I sent were lost. They had to be resent. This did not inspire confidence. Perhaps change of project managers was the reason for this faux par but there should have been a better transition. The genetic analysis took longer than expected. COPVID was blamed and that could indeed have been the case. But, I was OK with this and Jackson kept me informed . Overall the experience was good.The reason I used your company was its genetic capacity and for that I am most pleased. Thank You Brendan Mooney

I had spent considerable time researching my family tree and had run into a roadblock connecting several family branches that I was fairly certain were all related but I could not establish the relationships. Nobody I contacted knew how we were related, although everyone believed we were. The only records I could locate were in Italy and prior to when the families arrived in the US in the late 1800's and early 1900's. Entire families with the same surname had left the same town in Italy, traveled together on the same ship and lived together or near each other in Massachusetts - but I could not tell how they were related. The Italian records were not fully digitized and the scanned copies I could locate were hand written in Italian (which I can not speak or read). I hired Trace to identify my great-grandparents with the hopes of then identifying their children and discovering the relationship to the families I believed were related. I am completely happy with their work. They verified what I know about my grandparents and then searched the Italian documents to find my great-grandparents and their siblings. Following those ancestors they located the parents and then the children who are the ancestors of the families in the US that I already know. The report was well written and documented. It was a fascinating read that took me weeks to fully absorb. As much as I enjoyed doing the research to create my family tree I could not have done what Trace did to locate the Italian records and complete the top of the tree that connected us all together.

I have made several attempts in the past seeking help from professional Genealogists, however the cost to employ them have been well beyond my price range. Working with Trace afforded me the best chance in obtaining help with my family research. Patiently listening and asking the right questions and adjusting the goals I wanted to accomplish provided me the best chance of help. In the end after all discussions with Trace researchers, I had a price much lower than all previous genealogists. I also received suggestions on places to continue my search for the elusive documents I have been searching for!

TRACE staff was extremely helpful in helping me submit information to them etc. I am very tech CHALLENGED and not a great typist so their willingness to talk with me several times as I needed to update or clarify my initial data. One staff member helped reframe my inquiry so that it was succinct and clear. They followed up on every inquiry I made and kept me updated even after I had to postpone my research due to Covid19 effecting my funding of my research. I will be pursuing this research with them at some point as circumstances allow. I would highly recommend this group to anyone who values a team who is diligent, detailed oriented, friendly and patient with one's level of proficiency as a customer without making one feel dumb or annoying. I cannot speak to their researchers etc as I have not been able to get to that stage. But I can say they are excellent at helping one get all the prep work in line for the researcher that I have spread out on 5 sites etc.

I contacted trace after taking a genealogy course and realized it would take me years to do the research. My cousin had done some and hit a roadblock so I started there with Trace. Haven't gotten as far back as I would have liked, but your paying for a professionals time and the dollars only go so far. If it would have been easy I would have done it myself. I'm satisfied enough with Trace I've come back for a second round of research.

Very happy with the work Trace did for us. We provided them with as much information as we could in regards to our Great Grandfathers migration from Denmark to US. We didn’t have a lot of information, just some dates and locations, a small Danish island in the Baltic Sea, and the name of the village. Trace researched and found more generations, siblings we didn’t know about and even information on the ship he used to cross the Atlantic! All this information greatly enhanced our trip to our homeland of Bornholm, Denmark. The customer service was excellent, they were not pushy or pesky at all, but provided very appropriate follow up to assure that the information we provided was correct and that our questions and goals were answered and reached. They are also fun to talk to and have many fascinating genealogy stories! We will definitely be using them later this year to help research the other side of our family.

The woman who helped me at RootsTech 2020 was very helpful creating a list of places that I should continue to look at for my ancestor. He had a very common name, so it was a difficult case.
