I wish I could give zero stars Direct express is horrible horrible horrible! They lock your account for no reason they. flag ever purchase for no reason. you have to ask for permission from Direct express to spend your own money. They force you to verify your identity in multiple weird ways each with a 5 day hold time when they feel like it. They have you on hold for hours on end waiting to be heard . DO NOT USE DIRECT EXPRESS FOR ANYTHING!! ANYTHING!!!

A vendor overcharged me and I can't get a hold of customer service for anything but to take the report. I got put on hold several times. That's unacceptable.

Is there a zero rating? Why does the Federal Government use this as a default SS/Financial benefits organization? I was ON HOLD ONE hour and TWENTY TWO MINUTES attempting to help and elderly and ill benefit recipient fix an issue. God help those who have no one to help them.

I’m at 4 days and over 5 hours on hold and nothing, for some reason my replacement card hasn’t activated and im at 75 dollars in late fees to my landlord NEVER use direct express

If I could leave negative Stars I would I went and bought groceries at Walmart three bags of groceries late at night then when I went to order an Uber to get home they declined my payment I had to walk home several miles along the freeway and danger in my 58-year-old life I am so unsatisfied with them and their safety devices that put you in danger put you leave you stranded leave you hung out to dry very very bad do not get this do not deal with these people they are not good and I'm trying to say this politely

I just switched to DirectExpress on the recommendation or SS. I have had many problems with my bank account(s) due to getting hit with major withdrawal taking down 85% of my deposit. Most of the banks were professional and good to work with. Two were not.Direct Express rejected my dispute. An appeal of the decision will take a month to get accepted. I had reviewed Direct Express before the deposit, and signed up for a security feature where anything over $50 had to be specifically approved. The day before my deposit as due, I confirmed the security feature was activated. Deposit went in at 12:00 AM. According to the log, the withdrawals started shortly after that as happened with the other banks. There was no record of any holds pending specific approval.. Many of these transactions were over $350. When I asked, the rep said one had been sent out about 2 AM but since I did not respond the transaction was approved. No other notices were sent. ALL the bogus transactions were approved. When I objected, I was told there would not have been a problem if I had answered the one notice and then the rest as the notice appeared. At 2 AM What a joke. 10/08/2026 After apending many ours getting cutoff, told taht ing WILL be done, I finally escatlaed my complaint and actually got someone who recognized my situation and treatment. We went over the process of filing another dispute. However, he are no commitments for a human to review the case, and the cu;;ing is done by computer (stated on webpage). Called today about a new dysfunction (below) No revised dispute was initiated.. NEW DYSFUNCTION Folloeing the discussion on Monday my card was canceled. I tested it at an ATM and it was closed. I checked online at 8PM thee were no transactions in the system. THE CARD WAS NOTCLOSED OR CANCELED. I checked the account, and there were 9 unauthorized transactions, paid not pending. I called, and spent 2 hours and escalated to Fraud Dept. supervisor. I will ot describe how the irst eps espoded and treated me. I just sent off a complaint to Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB). That site says that they will contact Chime to call me ad discuss the situation. Since they have not responded to this TrustPilot review, I doubt they will respond, even when contacted by a federal contractor.

Worst customer service ever why is the government using these guys I've had nothing but trouble with them. This time I called it inquire about a transaction that was made on the second but it was only the first which confused me I didn't know what to purchase was for when they told me it was a Google purchase for a malware software I misspoke when I was explaining to the agent that no I didn't expect it to be a recurring purchase I was just really confused to how I could have made a purchase the next day when it was more than 24 hours before that that's all once I found out it wasn't just a private party that it started making purchases I was just explaining to her that I didn't know that was going to be a recurring one and basically she shut my card off without me asking her to she said oh well that it's already shut off do you want another card I kept telling her no I don't want another card and she kept talking over me and just kept repeating do you want another card do you want to know the card said no I want to leave this card alone I'll go pull the money out that I need to pay rent and to live I'll pull that out tomorrow she said nope it's already shut off do you want another card that that car is deactivated so she told me I couldn't get to my funds to pay my bills and eat tomorrow because of a misspoken by me apparently I stated that I didn't know it was going to be a recurring thing and she said so so you didn't authorize this and apparently the way I worded it she took it as it being a fraudulent attempt on my card which wasn't the truth that I did purchase an hour by the month before but it got shut off after like 2 weeks so I didn't think they were going to continue to charge me but instead of just explaining what it was and then not trick me it was like she tricked me and just saying no I did not authorize that kept asking ask me questions and as soon as I said no which isn't what I meant is like I didn't know they're going to charge it again and I could have took care of that with them I wasn't asking her to just not pay them I just I could have took care of that and she just said well if you say that it's unauthorized we're going to have to shut your card off no she just shut it off and said well since you said that we're going to shut off and now you have to wait six business days well I don't have six business days I need to eat and I need to pay my rent so then I'd ask no I'd asked me about a card and I said no I don't want another card I want to talk to your boss and she got them there showed up once we shut it off it's we can't turn it back on and if you wanted expedited it'll cost you 1350 so they charge me 1350 to get access to my money again because all I do is made a mistake and misspoke I didn't really realize it was like a trick question or something it was ridiculous and then it still won't get here for 4 days today's Thursday and it was like 6:45 a.m. and they said oh well it won't be there till Monday or Tuesday so I took 4 days to wait but I'm still paying $13.50 this place is the biggest rip off they need! How can we get together and do a class action suit that's what they need they need their butts sued for just being the worst customer service and taking advantage of disabled and seniors and everybody else that needs this money to live on! I want to apologize for all the errors in my above review I am visually impaired and have to use voice to text and it's hard to proofread what it actually is printing. I did find out some great news that comedic bank is now lost their contract to handle SSI and other government funds! Unfortunately I believe that due to the fact they are still servicing if that's what you want to call it us knowing that they lost the contract the customer service is at least as bad as it was before and possibly worse cuz they have no incentive to improve it I believe this agent herself should be financially held responsible for what she does to people I'm not the first one believe me there's plenty of people on here that was harmed by this very agent so not only am I joining in one of the multiple class action suits that are against comic Bank I'm looking into personally adding her name to the lawsuit her blatant disregard for humans is so reprehensible that she needs to be held personally accountable also so she knows what it feels like to not have money to pay rent or have food to eat like I am currently experiencing and I'm certainly not the only one the best rating they have is 1.1 Stars on a couple different sites which is probably too generous in my opinion! So I will be reporting this to my representative and my congressman tomorrow I have the numbers that Google gave me for direct contact with their offices people need to be held accountable for treating people with disabilities and the elderly like they do! They treat us horribly with no consequences whatsoever and that needs to change! Personal liability needs to come into play!!

Don't ever use this company for your direct deposits. They have messed mine up every month since I started drawing disability. Now they have post my car payment 3 times.And refuse to fix it.Has me over drawn so bad.Don't know how I will pay my bills next month. They are horrible.
