Direct express needs to make funds available when they receive them as other banking institutions do. That is the only reason for the 3. It really helps when you have no food to eat. They could do it if they wanted to. That is the only reason I am leaving them and going back to the bank

Update: This registers as a prepaid account. So it does not have Account Numbers or Routing Numbers which identifies both You and the Bank. Bank Transfers will probably not go through due to the (Un)Patriot Act. I had that experience once and forgot and tried it again. Presumably your money is very safe with this bank. I learned the hard way that we all need several accounts for emergencies like Earthquakes. We are still in recovery from an international emergency and we depend on technology more than ever. I’ve never had a digital bank transfer or payment that was as problematic. In fact it’s usually instantaneous. Suppose I want to pay all my bills, or buy something like a used car with the “rewards” of a bank? Well with DE, bank transfers are problematic. I don’t know the answer. If I may say something political, I trust most private banks FAR less than I do an account which is directly connected with our Government. I believe in Government. The private banks — well Google them, and Google the one political party’s new messiah and his business dealings as well. “Privatize” Government, even the Military? A toddler could see that’s just Grand Theft.
