First time new homeowners and already this predatory company is sending us letters asking to rent out our home to strangers. I’ve had enough of these companies destroying WNC and making it harder for locals to find homes.

Firstly, the outside of the house was filthy, the deck was covered in leaves, spiders and bugs, the combo to get in didn’t work, the grill was rusted and dirty, with old hamburger stuck in the grill, the stove and oven was disgusting…the list goes on….VueStay said in writing they were refunding our CC for the stay…that was 10 days ago, we are refuting the charges…

We got to the property and were not able to get in at first because we found out later that the keypad was broken and only turned 3/4 of the way. Because there was no cell service at the property, we were unable to call for help. After jiggling the lock multiple times, it finally unlocked all the way and we were finally able to get in. Because there is no cell service, we were told there is a landline to use in emergencies. Well guess what? The landline did not work. I used the wifi to WhatsApp my husband and asked him to call to get us help. The next day someone did come and confirmed that the keypad and phone were not working. I’ve been in touch with the company several times since we got home and all they have said is we are sorry you had problems but we are unable to do anything to compensate you for your troubles. I would not recommend renting through them.

Stayed at Beach Cottage in Fennville, Michigan. The only positives were the glassed in porch and beautiful view of Lake Michigan. The roof leaked in three places in the living room. There was not a single piece of comfortable furniture. It was old, stained, and in one case ripped. Beds were horrible. Kitchen did not have adequate dishes. When a tree fell across the driveway blocking our exit, Vue Stay was quick to send someone to remove it. That plus the beautiful view is why I did not give a one star rating.

Our group of seven stayed at this property (Deer Park 19, Glen Arbor,MI) twice previously under different management. This time we sat on the porch half an hour phoning for the correct code to enter the house. In our five-day stay we were never able to open the key lockbox. We even remained on the property when we thought a member of VueStay’s “local team” would visit and prepare us to be able to lock the door. One e-mail was received that said a “team member” had visited and found no one present. There is no “team”, just blandishments, promises, and scripted assurances that were never kept. For future stays we will chose properties with local representation.

It has been a horrific experience so far. We booked for a stay this weekend in Provincetown. Well... there is a Nor'eastern and flood warning for this weekend (9/25-9/27/26) and a "significant risk to life and property" for pretty much all of the Cape and Islands this weekend. Provincetown is at the tip of the cape and an average of 12 feet above sea level, and the place is right on the beach. Despite offering to take a credit or switching weekends, they are holding firm in their "policy" to not offer refunds due to weather. No matter what apparently. And now somehow they have canceled our reservation for 4 pm tonight while still insisting that we are not due any refund. So even if we were insane enough to risk traveling there tonight , we would have no actual place to stay. How is that fair or make any logical sense? I will be taking this up with every possible avenue to get our money back. Be warned, people! VueStay gives zero F's about you and your vacations or safety.

I’m the owner of a property and used VueStay for a few stays. I never hear from them, they haven’t paid me for any of the stays, and the lack of responsiveness is infuriating. Not to mention, I showed up to my property after a renter and it was filthy (after they overcharged me for cleaning). Save yourself the stress and go with a local, boutique rental agency. I’m going to be forced to pursue legal action.

During our stay over the summer, the local office was responsive--we needed more propane for the barbecue, the back gate needed to be fixed, and we needed more products for the showers. However, we lost hot water and gas for cooking 2 days before checkout. That's when the trouble started. The customer rep we spoke to was apologetic, but told us that the problem could not be fixed during our stay. She offered a refund for part of our stay and for dinner and breakfast for the last day. Our calls, emails, and texts went unanswered by the customer rep and her supervisor. It took 8 weeks for us to receive a small refund and payment for one family's breakfast. Terrible customer service. I won't rent from them again.
