Xtrait Perfumery was born from a lifelong passion for high-concentration fragrances. What began with a single bottle, a gift from my mother, soon grew into a deep fascination with the world of niche perfumery. I found myself diving down the "rabbit hole" of artisanal craftsmanship and the evocative storytelling behind every scent. After years of traveling to New York City just to experience these rare olfactory works of art, I realized there was a gap to be filled right here in Central Connecticut. Knowing there were other enthusiasts seeking the same high-caliber experience, I founded Xtrait Perfumery to bring the world's most exceptional scents home.
Xtrait Perfumery (xtraitperfumery.com) has 51 customer reviews on Folks Told, with an average rating of 5.0 out of 5.

Thank you, Sherrice. Tracking down the bottles nobody else stocks is exactly why I built this collection, so I'm really glad yours turned up here. Let me know what else is on your list. — Kevin, Xtrait Perfumery

Thanks for carrying a hard to find fragrance and the fast shipping.

Thank you, Renee. Carrying the harder-to-find bottles is the whole point of the shop, and quick dispatch is the easy part to get right. Glad to hear you'll be back. — Kevin, Xtrait Perfumery

Where do you start? First of all the space is extremely clean and inviting. Kevin is a dream to work with on fragrance, his passion is palpable. His inventory is always expanding, keeping pace with an ever growing selection. I'm collector and I will go way out of my way to visit the shop. I visit shops in every state I visit and Xtrait is absolutely one of the best.

Thank you, Matt — coming from someone who visits shops in every state they travel to, that's high praise. The space and the constantly growing shelf are both deliberate, so it's good to know they land. Always worth the detour to come say hello. — Kevin, Xtrait Perfumery

Kevin the owner is stand up guy, very knowledgeable and truly cares about this niche. I would recommend everyone to stop by and smell before you buy. Truly a great experience.

Thank you, Luis. "Smell before you buy" is exactly the advice I'd give anyone — fragrance is personal and no description on a screen replaces wearing it for an afternoon. Appreciate you spreading the word. — Kevin, Xtrait Perfumery

Thank you, Camyla — "every time" is the part I'm proudest of. A good first visit is easy; staying good across many visits is the harder trick. See you on the next one. — Kevin, Xtrait Perfumery

Excellent store. Thoughtfully curated (but expansive) collection of perfumes. Kind, patient service. Highly recommend.

Thank you. "Thoughtfully curated but expansive" is exactly the balance I aim for — enough range to explore without it becoming a wall of bottles. And patience is the job; nobody should feel rushed choosing a fragrance. — Kevin, Xtrait Perfumery
