Had my gen 3 for about 5 years. Not a bad product as long as your expectations are not too high. The unit does rather poorly in big trees whereas my runing and biking partners with a Garmin product had complete tracks. I had a problem two years ago on an out/back hike. the last couple of miles showed the tracks about 1/2mile east, which was NOT the case. I told them and they sent me a new one, no questions asked and no charges. Unit was way out of warranty. Never had to use the panic features. The "I'm OK" feature always worked. They have always treated me fairly. Never over charged.

Cancelled my subscription in July. I was exceptionally patient waiting for my refund however it never came. Called them at the end of December and was told my refund was never processed. Extremely bad business practices if you ask me.

Loved my old spot. upgraded to spotX and have had nothing but trouble. I caught them doubling my annual plan but told they never give refund, told maybe next year I could catch it before I was charged. Tracking never worked. Been stuck in firmware update for the better part of a year. Device is useless. Tech makes me do the same thing over and over. Spent untold hours on the phone. Finally after months of calling I have a Resolution Team Reference # but they are never available. No direct contact, have to go through the same troubleshooting for over an hour to get back to the same place, to be on hold for 15 minutes, to be told they are not available. I'm about to smash this thing with a hammer and not look back. GO GARMIN

I ordered it, but when the goods didn't come, I inquired, and the answer came in 6 weeks. I had to contact the parent company, Globalstar, not their official email. I couldn't get an answer from any official e-mail. I've been trying to buy a product for a year, but I can't buy it.

I couldnt believe how bad these guys are. They bill you in the most confusing way possible and then you find our you're locked in for 12 months and can't cancel. Just use garmin inreach its better in every way and month to month. What a horrible scammy company.

Great service and food

Absolutely horrid. Have you ever had customer service so scammy they outsource to Africa? Ever had a situation with any reputable company that they absolutely WILL NOT cancel your subscription under any circumstances and if you want to get out you need to claim fraud with your credit card company and get a whole new card? Me either until now. This company is a syphilitic corpuscle. Don't touch it with a ten foot pole.

You get billed without knowing what you are paying for. The web portal to manage your account is extremely confusing. And their customer service is useless, I called and I've been put on hold for over 10 minutes.
