Just started and I know, as they stated, that it's highly illiquid. I also am not putting a bunch of money into it, just a small percentage of my total monthly investments (<10%). App makes it easy, and they have a lot of usable information. I have had a rent house before and that experience helps me immensely in understanding the Fundrise investment process.

This is a ponzi scheme
I have been an "investor" with Fundrise for over five years. Despite having an account balance that reflects fairly impressive returns, I am not allowed to cash in on my investments.
Further, there does not seem to be a mechanism in the foreseeable future where they would allow me access to the money they assure me is doing well.
Perhaps they will have my money send me a Christmas card so that I know it is continuing to do so. Maybe, if I promise not to take it and run, they could arrange an in person visit for me to sit with my money for a few hours one day.
This is a ponzi scheme without the benefit of the periodic cash payments Bernie Madoff at least had the decency to send his victims.
Do not give these guys your money. All you will get in return is a shiny new account screen that shows you are making money they will never allow you to touch.
There is no option to cash out. You can search your dashboard all day, you will not find it. You have to go to the FAQ section before you will even see the topic breached.
There, it will explain that while you may submit a request for withdrawal, it is subject to their review, and that many of their "products" are simply not eligible for redemption.
--An investment product, not eligible for redemption --
Let that sink in. Took me a minute as well.
Their review process only takes place three times a year, where they will diliberate and debate which of your investments they believe you are entitled to. Further, they impose a stiff penalty should you follow through and try to withdraw what is allegedly your money. They claim this penalty is only 5%, but that is a lie. It is compounded per "product", and they have a habit of restructuring your original investments into multiple products as previous products mature or are split and combined with other projects.
I have been with them for over 5 years. I am beyond any grace period that an early withdrawal fee should apply to. My account screen shows absolutely stellar returns. However, if I were to withdraw my money today (July) it would be October before they even considered allowing me the privilege of access to my own money, and I would only be eligible for a little over half of what my balance says which is considerably less than my original investment.
And this is during the best of times in a historically vibrant real estate market. One can only imagine how stingy they'd become in a bad market. They would probably envision a world in which I owed them money. I was taught eREITs were supposed to be more liquid than actual real estate, this one however seems to be completely illiquid.
I would have been better off buying a condemned property 5 years ago and setting it on fire. At least then I could have still sold it to blackrock at my leisure, and the returns would have probably been better.
I would sooner play three card monty with the local crack cocaine or heroin enthusiast than send these criminals another dime.
I shall be setting a Google alert for class action lawsuits against Fundrise, with the hopes of joining in on any that happen to be filed.

Overall great experience with Fundrise and parent company!
I’ve been with Fundrise since 2020 and it has been an amazing experience. I was eligible to purchase IPO from their parent company after a year of being an investor. I get quarterly dividends that are being reinvested. Once you reach an investment plan level, you will be automatically upgraded. Yes, it is true that your money is tied up in real estate investments for 5 years. I am in this for the long haul with Fundrise and their parent company. Do your research on Fundrise website and check out YouTube reviews. Thanks Fundrise and parent company!

I don’t understand what others don’t…
I don’t understand what others don’t understand about Fundrise. They are extremely upfront with you about how illiquid your investment is. THIS IS NOT A SAVINGS ACCOUNT OR A STOCK YOU CAN EASILY SELL. Do your research and don’t just blindly throw your money at something, or be stuck with the consequences. If you need to withdraw the money quickly to pay for expenses, then you shouldn’t be investing the money to begin with.
I’ve averaged 13.7% returns a year for the 2 years I’ve invested with Fundrise, not including dividends

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE
TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE! DONT fund an account with a debit card or it will be a while you get your money back if you cancel. Customer service was great but it's not looking out for the consumer.

Fundrise is the very best Crowdfunding…
Fundrise is the very best Crowdfunding platform that I have found. I love the broad diversification of properties in each fund which minimizes risk IMO. They have been in business for nearly 10 years with a stellar performance track record. They are totally transparent with all their transactions which I love and as so many of my family and friends that have invested with Fundrise. They share each and every move they make with you through their investor portal through notification's. I have been invested with Fundrise for over 2 years now and I have entrusted in them with a very large position and the returns have been astounding. Investing with Fundrise is a much safer bet with all the diversification rather than investing in say a single property with other crowdfunding platforms and many times you are in the dark with their past performance IMO. I always recommend Fundrise to anyone that wants to be invested in real estate without the day to day aggravation. I would never own local real estate ever again with all the maintenance and aggravation that goes with it. I find Fundrise very professional, smart, and hard working people. I trust Fundrise!

Smart enough to read reviews and STAY…
Smart enough to read reviews and STAY AWAY! When returns are implied to be high, but users do not get that, it is common for advisors to say, it’s a long term investment! That delays the taking of money out until worse can occur!

Perfect diversification to equities
I'm partial to equities, so Fundrise provides the perfect diversification to real estate without the headache of finding and managing properties on my own. I've had an account for several years and have been increasingly impressed.
