I am 77 y/o, transferred to ONEMEDICAL FOR SENIORS 3years ago. I believed them advertisement. In reality, it looks like headquarters never ever inspected offices on the locations. Offices don't have MD and NP on constant staff, nobody checks history, and we, old people, have a rich one of illnesses. Always different names contacted from TEAM!
Where are the best services for SENIORS?
It will be interesting to see feedback for reviewers.

Months of Billing Disputes With No Meaningful Resolution
I had an extremely disappointing billing experience with One Medical.
A very brief telehealth appointment resulted in a bill of nearly $300 before insurance adjustments. I formally disputed the charge and spent months trying to obtain a satisfactory resolution through office management, Billing, coding review, management escalation, and Patient Financial Services.
Instead of resolving my underlying concern, I repeatedly received explanations about insurance deductibles, payment plans, and financial assistance. Those were not what I was disputing.
One Medical told me that the billing had undergone a formal review and was correct, but I remained dissatisfied with both the charge and how my dispute was handled. I was also told the outstanding balance could eventually proceed toward collections while I was still actively contesting it.
After canceling my membership, the existing message thread I had been using for the dispute displayed a notice requiring me to update my membership to respond, further complicating my ability to continue the matter through that channel.
I ultimately escalated the matter outside One Medical after being unable to obtain a satisfactory resolution internally.
Based on my experience, I would strongly recommend that prospective patients ask exactly how a scheduled visit will be billed, what it may cost before insurance, and what options they will have if they later dispute the charge.

Be very careful of their billing…
Be very careful of their billing practice! I had a 15min online conversation as a routine check up with a PN, and was billed for over $500 as an office visit. They refuse to recategorize as a routine visit that should've been covered by the insurance.

Cost was insane even though in-network
I went to a One Medical NYC location recently for a small skin rash. I liked the doctor a lot - friendly, patient, listened to me; so I have no issue with her. The doctor looked at my rash through one of those lens thing and felt it and determined it was nothing to be concerned about. No tests, no skin scrapings, no lotions, nothing. I have no issue with this because it wasn't necessary - and two days later the rash was all but gone.
My issue is with the huge bill I was left with! OM was in-network, so I expected a reasonable charge. Instead, they billed my insurance $740 (!!!!) and of that, I was left to pay $475. Just think about that....$475 for a doctor to look at skin rash. This is insane!
I spoke to my Benefits Manager and he did some research and if I'd gone to CityMD (which I'd done in the past), I would've had to pay only about $200. So OM was more than twice as much!!
I would strongly advise anyone to go to another one of these types of clinics, like CityMD, because you will likely be shafted with a huge bill for the most minimal thing done.

13 Years of service, then they drop my insurance and don't tell me, but expect me to pay $400 for a routine visit.
I would strongly caution anyone considering One Medical’s Long Beach location to verify their insurance coverage independently before receiving care here.
My insurance stopped being accepted by One Medical (after years of flawless experiences), but when I had a recent medical issue and reached out specifically asking for an in network referral, I was told to come into see my PCP first instead. I came in, was looked at, and then referred anyway. MEANWHILE I WAS CHARGED MORE THAN $400!!!!! When I later raised the issue, One Medical staff actually acknowledged that they could find no record that I had ever been informed that my insurance was no longer accepted, and that THEY SHOULD HAVE TOLD ME ON SITE BUT ACKNOWLEDGE THAT THEY DID NOT. Despite that, I am now being expected to pay hundreds of dollars out of pocket for a visit I attended without being told that the insurance coverage I had previously used with them dozens of times was no longer valid.
That is the part I find unacceptable. This was not a situation where I ignored a notice, misunderstood a bill, or knowingly chose to receive out-of-network care. According to One Medical’s own response to me, they did not communicate the insurance change, yet I am apparently expected to absorb the financial consequences of their failure to do so.
I tried to resolve this privately before posting a review. Instead of someone taking ownership of the issue and correcting it, my complaint has been passed between multiple people for weeks. I have received messages from several different staff members, but still no meaningful resolution to the central problem: One Medical failed to tell me my insurance was no longer accepted and is still expecting me to pay the resulting charges.
One Medical markets itself as a premium, convenient healthcare service with better communication and easier access to care. My experience has been the opposite. If a medical practice changes whether it accepts a patient's insurance, notifying that patient before continuing to provide services should be one of the most basic administrative responsibilities.
I gave them multiple opportunities to fix this before leaving a public review. At this point, prospective patients deserve to know what happened so they can protect themselves from ending up in the same situation.
If One Medical ultimately takes responsibility and resolves these charges appropriately, I will update this review. As of now, they have not.

Horrible
Appointment seemed to go well but upon arrival at Lab found out I could not give sample because I think took an over the counter medication . I specifically asked if I could take it and was I could during the appointment. I had to wait 7 days due to this to give lab sample. Got results from lab but not One Medical. Called them, put on hold 5 minutes just to leave a call back number(why wasn’t that done immediately?). Get call back several hours, later and explain my results are not in One Medical and I should have a follow up, as told, concerning the labs. Person I spoke with said I would hear from someone by the end of the day. It’s been a week, and I just received notice to pay my copay. For what? This is a clown show.

Don't bother
Don't bother. They will ignore your medical history and charge you $30 to tell you to go to urgent care or your primary care provider.

I really like my overall experience…
I really like my overall experience with One Medical. I feel my dr could have had better communication around recent tests and care coordination. It's caused me to lower my opinion of One Medical a bit and I am looking for a new dr.
