The content was excellent. I learned a great deal. If I were to change one thing, I would hire a professional script reader for the lessons we listened to. The volume levels were recorded at a low level, and the audio came only through one of my two speakers. A minor criticism, of course. Overall, the course was excellent.

Felt like everything they had for us to learn was great along with links to other helpful items such as tailored books toward Proofreaders or starting your own freelance business. Also, the positive attitudes all around to help you feel comfortable and to succeed. People who graduated from PA have been willing to share their stories and any challenges they went through, along with, their success. I tried a course years ago for another career, and they left you high and try to figure how to get a foot in the door even though they mentioned early in the course they had a little info to help.

The course has prepared me (albeit in a somewhat frustrating way) for proofreading. The frustration comes into play when correcting the practice essays when you are unsure of your corrections and the corrections in the corrected essays confuse you. One thing to remember is that proofreading, like anything related to the Language Arts, is not cut and dry like math is. There can be multiple right answers to proofreading conundrums, so give the best correction you can, with evidence from your style guides, and be on your merry way. Don't agonize. Utilize the Facebook group, but don't get lost in all the posts.

Thank you for your thoughtful review! Proofreading can definitely present those “gray area” moments. The Facebook group is a great resource, and we hope it continues to be helpful on your journey.

The class was very informative. I found that I procrastinated at times with continuing the process, but glad I finished & passed.

The class segments are well-organized and clear. I loved that there are many opportunities to practice along the way and many different types of work to practice with at the end. The FB group was helpful to me when I did stumble on something. I would recommend this program to anyone who wants to become a proofreader or just wants to ensure that their proofreading skills are up to snuff for whatever work they are doing.

I am a little behind in getting started. Mainly because I am trying to stay afloat amongst ALL OF THE EMAILS. Way too many.
