Rick,
I’d like to take a moment to clarify what actually transpired, as there appears to be some confusion in your review.
First, regarding your claim that we are a “broker”:
We are licensed as both a broker and a carrier. Like every moving company in the country, we do not own trucks in every state. However, we work with vetted partner carriers nationwide. In your case, because you were relocating nearly 2,875 miles from California to Florida, we utilized one of our California-based partner carriers for pickup, and our Florida-based team completed the final delivery once your shipment arrived in Mims, FL.
This is standard practice in long-distance moving and was fully disclosed.
At the time of booking, you personally provided the estimated volume of approximately 3,600 cubic feet, and that is the number you asked us to quote your move on. That figure was not generated by us — it was the amount you advised us you would be moving.
It’s also important to clarify that we were not provided with a full household or storage-unit inventory. The only items you told us needed to be moved were the following heavy equipment:
One band saw
One CNC machine
One CNC plasma machine
Four crates
One lathe
One magline
Three metal racks
One press brake
Three large toolboxes
These were the only items you advised us about. You did not disclose any household items or storage-unit contents at that time. After we calculated the space required for the equipment listed above, you advised us that the remaining space within the 3,600 cubic feet would be sufficient to accommodate the household goods, and we relied on that information when preparing your quote and scheduling the equipment.
When the crew arrived, it became clear that — in addition to the heavy equipment — you also had:
A full household
A storage unit
Numerous additional items not previously disclosed
Because of this, the shipment significantly exceeded the original estimate, and the move ultimately required:
A 52-foot trailer, plus
An additional 26-foot box truck
Despite this substantial increase in volume, the move was still completed successfully.
To clarify further:
You were picked up on January 12–13, as scheduled
You were delivered within 7–10 days, which was faster than the 10–14 day delivery window provided
All equipment and household goods arrived safely and without damage
Three vehicles were also transported successfully
Additionally:
A quality assurance call was completed prior to pickup At that time, you confirmed there were no changes to the inventory
The additional items were only discovered once the crew arrived on site When the additional space was required, you approved the revised charges and signed the updated agreement accordingly. Nothing was added without your knowledge or consent.
For these reasons, we are unclear why this move has been characterized as a “scam.”
You were:
✔ Picked up on time
✔ Delivered on time
✔ Properly communicated with throughout the process
✔ Moved without damage
✔ Charged based solely on actual volume moved
We understand moving can be stressful; however, it is important to clarify that the only reason the price changed and the move required additional equipment was due to the inaccuracy of the inventory provided and the lack of disclosure regarding the household and storage contents.
If there is anything further you would like to discuss, we are happy to do so. Our goal is transparency, professionalism, and providing fair service on every move.
