I migrated to Appfolio about a year ago and I’ve regretted just about every minute of it. Not user friendly at all and they have no customer support. Every one of my employees hates it, the tenants hate it and it’s very hard to find an accountant to hire in-house who has experience with it or can figure it out.

They’re now charging every single tenant that is forced to use their useless app a transaction fee, even for bank transactions. Rip off. Land lords, please do not use this company.

AppFolio customer support is disappointing. There is no customer support phone number. So if you are in immediate need of help, here are your options: 1. Ask the community of Appfolio users how to solve your problem. This is interesting but also lame. As a paying customer, I don’t want to have to rely on other paying customers for support. 2. Watch a training video. Helpful but doesn’t help you solve issues where a person needs to be involved. 3. Attempt to do their live chat where there is the promise of receiving a response within a few minutes. Response times are slow and if you leave the chat when they respond, chances are you will have to wait even longer. Again, they do not have a phone number to call for support. You will have to wait for replies to your chat or email requests.

Unhappy about transaction fee now added to bank transactions when it used to be free prior to 7/31/23. I'm considering this a rental increase. I'd recommend landlords and tenants to stop using Appfolio and go with another service. I also sent comments to Appfolio via email and they never responded.

Classic bait and switch. When we first signed on, they said the only fee would be $1 per unit. Now they are adding $2.49 per ACH transaction. We used to be able to get customer support on the phone. Now we have to find help ourselves using the Help Center and reading posts from other users.
