I passed all 6 of the ARE exams at first attempt! I am certain that achieving this would have taken me longer and would have been much harder without Black Spectacles. The BS video lectures and practice exams were most helpful in my studying. It was by far the best resource I had.

Black Spectacles was my one and only resource for conquering these exams. I used only the lecture videos and practice exams which covered just about everything you'd need to know for each test. They do a great job at outlining the AIA documents and I only needed to review them a bit more in depth separately to get a real comprehensive grasp on each. I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this service. I failed my first exam before using BS, after signing up, I passed every test chronologically on the first try. Could not be happier with everything they are doing. Thanks for filling in the blanks created by our professional schools and associations. It still baffles me that more of this information is not a part of a school's curriculum (like licensure exams are for medical professionals), but at least you all are filling in the gap!

An extremely helpful tool for studying!! I would say BS PLUS using the Ballast book covers everything (and more) of what you would need to know for the exams! I really enjoy the videos and practice exams and felt like they were difficult but helped me review what I need to know. The customer service team was VERY helpful and very accommodatinG.

The content was straightforward and covered the wide spectrum of topics for each exam. I found the flashcards useful for reviewing materials and terms during the week leading up to each exam. I would recommend however supplementing the lectures with additional information from other materials.
