PowerBlock, Inc. was founded in 1991 by specialty fitness equipment designers who became friends while designing equipment for several companies including Parabody and Cybex. While searching for specific needs in the fitness industry, they were drawn to the large amounts of dumbbells they would encounter in the specialty fitness stores they visited. There had to be a better way of providing fitness enthusiasts with the performance advantage of hand weights without the space and restrictions of old fashioned racks and dumbbells. It was here the idea for PowerBlock was born. After two years of extensive testing, PowerBlock began sales of the newly coined "selectorized dumbbell". Since then, PowerBlock has continued to be the leader in the fitness industry as we constantly strive to out do ourselves in the pursuit of excellence.

Purchased the Sport EXP Stage 1 along with the sheet metal stand and power bench. I rate the dumbbells at 5 stars, excellent quality. I rate the sheet metal stand at 4 stars, has more flex than it should for the cost. Finally, I rate the power bench at 4 stars, solidly made however the design allows a bit of wobble side to side when lifting on it, both the seat and the back rest. Also, the design of the feet contribute to the wobbliness when used on carpet. Overall, very usuable and I recommend the system, very compact footprint and a lot of work can be done very quickly with this system.

The purchasing experience was great, simple and easy, and my PowerBlock arrived in just 4 days, even though it said on the website it will take up to 2 weeks. However, I ordered the U-90 but received the Elite version instead!!! I called Customer services and they helped me right away and sent me the right PowerBlock immediately. I received my U-90 PowerBlock and I love it. If it was not for the wrong-shipment I would have rated my Experience 5-Stars.

I really like the quality and ease of use for the dumbbells. Great feel overall. I wish the dumbbells came with back up decals since they are already starting to peel. It's important for my clients to be able to identify what weight they are using quickly. I would buy these dumbbells again. The bench is very comfortable and sturdy considering it's overall weight. Just be mindful of the 550lb capacity. Definitely no step ups on this bench.

Everything is great except with one of the PowerBlocks. I have trouble inserting the plastic selector into the orange bar because the ends get trap on the circle cut out area where the bolt goes.

Purchased the U90 125 PowerBlock's a few weeks ago. Arrived pretty quick. Assembly was really easy, not even sure I would call it an assembly. Up and running with them within 10 min. On the other side, I feel the blocks are over priced. I spent $1,055 to get them to the door. The concept is great, but so much plastic. I feel that I may end up breaking them in the future. The selecters are plastic as well and seem ver cheap. If something were to break first that would be it. Overall great product. Only wish is that I would be able to expand the 125 to 175 but that isn't an option...

Only a few minor issues So I purchased A LOT!! I got the Urethane 90 5-125 lb set, the sport bench, the U125 rack stand, the dip attachment, and the pull up bar attachment. The dumbbells, mechanically speaking, are solid. Very easy to operate. My only issue with the dumbbells is there's a big jump of weight at the higher set weight. There's no increment between 90 and 102.5 lbs. When working at that high of a weight, it would be nice to have an amount set in between those two weights, like 95 lbs for example. The sport bench is easy to maneuver, it's quite comfortable, and cleaning it off is a breeze. I have two issues with the bench. It feels a little unstable when I lift the higher weights or when I'm using the pull up attachment. I'm 5' 8" and I weigh 170 lbs. When I'm pressing the dumbbells, anything over 100 lbs, the bench feels like it's wabbling. I checked all the bolts and nuts, and everything is snugged. As for the pull up attachment, when I first got on it, the bench again felt a little unstable. So when I use the pull up attachment, I place a heavy dumbbell at the seat, then the bench feels stable and I can attack my pull ups with a more sense of security. So all and all for the bench, I would recommend either some heavier material to give it a heavier base or a design more structurally sound. No issues with the Stand. It's a solid base and great height for setting the dumbbells on. Same with the dip attachment. Very sturdy. I would rate this all 4.5 out of 5 stars.
