Acme Tools Order Cancellation Doesn’t Work
Acme Tools seems like a legitimate website and offers the best price on most of the tools I’ve looked at. Items I’ve purchased shipped and arrived in a timely manner which is great. However, customer service is weak at best. Recently I ordered an item and immediately decided to cancel the order as I had discovered a discount code that I wanted to use. Within minutes of placing the order I clicked on Cancel Order and completed their form. No confirmation screen appeared and I didn’t get a confirmation email so I immediately used their contact us form asking to confirm my cancellation. This was all on a Saturday afternoon. Monday morning I had a reply email stating that it was too late to cancel the order and that it had already been processed for shipping. The email advised me to ship it back and include a copy of the invoice which I did. it was $45 in return shipping cost. What they didn’t tell me was I had to initiate return on their website and get a return number. Two weeks later I read their return policy and saw that I had to get a return number so I filled out the form and followed up with customer service giving my return number and explaining that they had already received the item back. My refund was finally processed and the money was back in my account pretty quickly. I will buy from them again but only if their price is significantly better. Just be aware that their order cancellation process just doesn’t work.
