We have been using Appfolio for about 6 years and cannot live without it. The program is very simple to use and user friendly. They are continuously improving it and adding new features. Also their support staff is outstanding.

The staff at AppFolio has always been helpful and kind. It's always improving and bettering their design to fit the needs of their customers. I am new to using AppFolio and so far customer service has been great with all my questions in helping me get set up. We especially appreciate that the system isuncomplicated to use and understand. The training videos are very helpful.

I started out skeptical of Appfolio, I struggled to get our accounting switched over and there were a few clunky issues with the transfer, however, their team was there the whole way with a smiling face ready to help. Sometimes it takes a little while to get an answer, but when you have their attention, you have their full attention until the problem is resolved. The software itself has become an invaluable resource for our company. I don't know how we even kept track of everything before Appfolio! Not to mention they are ALWAYS working to keep on the cutting edge of what their customers want from them. I would highly recommend to anyone who asks me!
e!
There are 2 major things with Appfolio that cause me great frustration. The first is the ability to enter 1 single receipt that has multiple G/L coding. Each G/L code on the receipt has to be entered as a separate receivable. If you make an error in the entry you cannot edit the receipt, you have to delete it and start over. There is to much room for errors for this type of data entry. The second is the ability to transfer a tenant from 1 property/unit to another. First you have to move the tenant out including closing their security deposit account. Then you have to re-enter their data as a new tenant with a new security deposit. Oh yeah and the tenant history does not follow the tenant. You have to go to their old file to look up any information you may need. Again not a practical use of time. I am from the old school of I DO NOT LIKE TO DO THINGS TWICE!!! And I feel that i am constantly doing that. But, in general for other reasons i do like using Appfolio.

Hello E, we're sorry to hear that these processes are causing you trouble. We recommend that you use the 'Save and Add Another' option to speed up the process for entering receipts with multiple GL accounts. This will allow you to more quickly enter these receipts in a batch. We've also passed your feedback to our Product Team for review as we continue to enhance our accounting workflows. We're glad to hear that you do enjoy using AppFolio and we look forward to continuing to work with you!

Support is very slow to respond and there is no phone support without an appointment. To me these are issues! When I need support I did not have to make an appointment to run into the issue and sometimes there are many others waiting besides me such as clients, tenants, auditors but that doesn't seem to matter.

Hi Dick, thank you for reaching out to us and we apologize for this negative experience. The nature of our support does require research and response, however, we have recently added an instant chat feature in our Help Center to help with issues that need an immediate response. You can navigate to it from the Help and Training link in your database.
