The rating of a company depends on the service you receive after you have committed to them. The customer service I have experienced is one of the best!

Appfolio is by far the best property management software I have used. Being in this industry for 10 years I have used several different software companies only to find that Appfolio is the most user friendly and the technical support is beyond the best. I have zero reservations recommending the software to anyone looking for a great solution to their property management needs.

Appfolio used to be cutting edge but now have fell behind. They have ceased listening to their customers, customers like my company that has been with them from the get go. Recently trying to force feed insurance to our tenant with out consulting us as paying clients. I’m tired of not being able to integrate other helpful software not owned by them. They won’t work with my outside Website developer so that my website works in a fluid manor with my PM software. Instead they want you to buy in to their subpar websites they build. There are many holes in this dam. Buyer beware, I’ve been with them since 2009, this will change soon.

Hi Rob, thank you for reaching out and providing your feedback. We are sorry that you are frustrated and want you to know that we take your feedback seriously. To clarify, we launched our renters insurance offering as an option for tenants to easily purchase renters insurance through their tenant portals and to help property managers mitigate risk. We would be happy to turn off this option for you. Additionally, we do offer the ability to integrate your vacancy postings and online rental applications as a free option that allows you to post your properties through AppFolio to your website, eliminating the need for double entry. Please reach out to our support team via the Help & Training link in your database for assistance. We look forward to providing you with excellent service moving forward!

They started off great when I signed up back in 2013, there was definitely a learning curve but their service, at the time, was great at being available quickly, getting down to the problem and fixing it. Now, they got rid of their service completely it seems and it takes a week of pointless back and forth over email (because they got rid of our ability to call them) for usually, nothing to be resolved. The software is still working at a very basic level for us, but more and more we are being forced to use third party services now for even very core functions like taking application fees. I've already begun my search and preparing my company for the incredible pain it is going to be to change services. And they know it, which is why they put no effort into customer service or improving the product anymore.
